On the balanced connector, tie pin 3 and pin 1 together. Pin2 is hot.

That system should be fine for scope. I wouldn't expect there to be any problems with it.

How are you actually testing this? How do you know you are not overloading the spectogram?

Try removing all inputs to the stm2448 and then add them one by one watching the dsp meter.

....So please disregard my comments about the bass response of Mackie HR824s. :oops: I was quite surprised when you said this too as I found the Hr824's to have stacks of bass (in a treated room). :) But my ears always found the bottom end a little muddy in the hr824's and I blame the passive radia...

If you just want the names, in unix you could run "strings <filename>" on the unpacked file to pull out all text most of which, I imagine, would be preset names.
