[resolved] On XP running Scope 5.0.2617? I need your ASIO modules
Hi, I dun goofed on my ASIO2 24 Bit Source and ASIO2 Dest modules. Not sure what happened, I think it has to do with my tidying up $scope\App\Application\IOs too much. Backed up my Scope dir, reinstalled, then that gave me keys issues. Restored my backup Scope dir, but that also returned my borked d...

Re: Ideas wanted for uncluttered switching Live and ASIO sources, or ASIO-like VDAT
After some more trying, seems the patch works just great. With both live and recorded audio active it switches inadvertedly, as the automagic switching is very crude, but then it's a matter of me choosing what channel to mute/unmute in the DAW. I will now do different presets of that very same patch...

Re: Wont get fooled again - unless I fool myself
I really should play some reference tracks or albums more, especially in the studio environment. And although I do appreciate the good comments on my mixes, and I lack a sub, I tend to forget to play those reference tracks, "known great" productions in whatever the genre I'm working on, wh...

Re: Ideas wanted for uncluttered switching Live and ASIO sources, or ASIO-like VDAT
Meanwhile, came up with a lil patch that does away with lots of wires in the Routing Window automagically selects between live and recorded audio - not sure about this yet. will have to actually play with it some more. i'm not feeling much to spend much more DSP on this. If it comes to that, out goe...

[resolved] uncluttered switching Live and ASIO sources, or ASIO-like VDAT
Hi, I'm working on a live >30 IO project, most all hardware IO, DSP devices are routed 1:1 to ASIO Dest. While all these feed to STM mixer, most all is throughput via STM's Direct Outs to HW output to a 24tr analog mixing desk. Some sources are fed to STM's buses and from there to the analog desk si...

Re: external fx processor / routing advice
Those are using Master FX Modules because they are in and out No need if you do not need the dry/wet, phase or delay: you can use Externel Effect ;) As for the 12dB gain you add there, IIUC that's to compensate for the dry&wet internal mixer. Give it a try. Only reason you might need this one i...

Re: CC Converter
Sure, in modular: Send ConstVal to ValMonitor. Assign the former to source CC#, the latter to the CC# you'd like it to turn into. One catch in modular: When doing a bunch of those in one patch, you cannot have 2 sliders assigned to the same CC#, for example: CC#1 to CC#7, and CC#10 to CC#1. The doub...

Re: external fx processor / routing advice
@atom I'm not sure to understand how it works (external devices) but I guess in the end it remains the same right? It allows to "follow the sound" and understand the physical routing or is there something else? Right, the External Devices are merely aliases for the 'real' (hardware or sof...

Re: external fx processor / routing advice
Actually, I prefer to use $scopedir/Devices/Tools/External Devices/{Source,Dest,Fx} and save those with the actual hardware device's name. This makes for much less spaghetti in my project, and if later I ever connect the hardware somewhere else (say from Analog IO to ADAT convertor box or Z-Link), I...

For those wondering what that's about, I think you're referring to the cuts at NI? More on that here: https://cdm.link/2019/09/native-instruments-cuts/

OBS: audio & video recording and live streaming tool
I noticed some here are having issues with screen recording and streaming, so I thought I'd drop this here: OBS, "Open Broadcaster Software" is a multi-platform, "Free and open source software for video recording and live streaming". Lets you select any most audio and video sourc...

Re: PCI-e to PCI extender for Scope ( experiment going to be a solution :) )
et voila: 27DSPviaPCIe-2-PCI.png For now, I've added this 6DSP XTC-card with no IO, and I've only loosely hung it inside the PC case. No MV testing, just loaded yesterday's project. The ultimate test ofc would be to move all 3 DSP cards to those expansion cards (I have 2), for those motherboards who...

Re: PCI Latency Timer setting?
[...] My question is can I benefit from this change? [...] Doesn't hurt to try. If I remember correctly, back in the day some other card on the bus (my matrox g450?) would override this setting. Nowadays with EFI/UEFI, the OS seems to have taken over BIOS settings anyway. But hey, it's free to try,...

Re: An Experiment with 3 scope cards ( seems to be working)
snoopy, ordered! Now wait some weeks for the shipment(s) to arrive... Then, in time (maybe wait for at least another to confirm?), you can change subject to "PCI-e to PCI extender for Scope". That'll make the experiment topic a bit less experiment, and more of a solution

Re: The music industry has never been worse
Hey Nestor, I gave up worrying about this, for different reasons, let me list the two main ones that come to mind: * many people don't actually listen. they use it like some sort of sonic wallpaper . like nobody's actually paying a lot of attention to wallpaper, right. * do you still find music that...

Re: An Experiment with 3 scope cards ( seems to be working)
Hi snoopy4ever, thanks for going through the lengths to test this - i know i hadn't been going easy on you.. but this indeed confirms the throughput of the PCI extender. that's excellent news!! 8) i got a 3rd card here that i can't install at the moment, a pulsar 2, and i think i'm ordering such an ...
