I don't know if this is correct but my understanding of the way the hardware/software works (which is minimal - how about more detailed info CW?) is that PCI slot one is loaded first and then the rest of the cards are effectively cascaded down, which would in effect mean you've got the wrong card fi...

I have a similar setup with Pulsar2, Scope SRB and PowerSampler on Mac with no problems. I will state a few obvious things so please don't take offence as you've probably already done all these: 1. Make sure your connectors are firmly in place, give 'em a good wiggle. 2. Maybe give the connectors a ...

Tell us how it goes. It's a good idea to configure OMS even if you're not using it then you can eliminate it from your enquiry. I've always used OMS2.3.8 with no problems but other Mac users swear by 2.3.7. Are you using the correct ASIO modules in your Pulsar project? Does Performer recognise ASIO2?

Have you done all the Mac tweaks like Virtual Memory off etc? You can find most of the tweaks if you search this forum. Which software version of Pulsar are you using, which Mac OS? I run VST 5.1r1 on G4 OS9.0.4 with Pulsar3.01 and everything is fine. I would recommend OS9.2.2 for SFP3.1a. There are...

A brief News item on the Minimax appears in the UK music technology magazine Future Music September issue (FM126) with some nice screen grabs and a brief overview. Would've been nice to have seen a review. The article however doesn't state that you need a Creamware card to use it so there may be som...

aargh...I just made 15 or so great presets for the earlier version and now they sound pants (trans: not good) on the new update. The sequencer doesn't seem to 'drive' as hard even when I try tweaking the new version to sound like the original beta. Or maybe it's me. Still liking this device a lot th...

I have a similar problem on Mac running VST/32 v5.1r1 with Pulsar v3.01, the BPM varies about 2 BPM either way and never locks. Also you may notice that when using a delay sound on say Prisma and you try to sync it to Cubase you get a lovely clicking sound. I end up just entering the BPM manually in...

 Yes it's unfortunate that I (over-?)studied Mondrian in art classes and have never been able to get on with green, orange and purple since! TonyR PS. I think we've gone a little OT here, I'm not even running SFP3.1 yet so I won't even get the benefits of the fab new TransPlanet for a while :cr...

I don't want to seem an ungrateful bastard, but I know you'd like feedback for the new Transplanet. I dunno if it's just me but I hate green! (sorry). The 'tank' green on the original was OK but this is quite lurid. Also might it be an idea to have the A and B sections in slightly different shades o...

I used a Fairlight Mark I (blimey) which as I recall had 8 bit mono sampling and I think about 8 seconds of sample time and cost £20,000! I've been looking for Fairlight samples for ages but can't find any free or cheap. Contrary to what jupiter8 said about samplers it had (has) a very distinctive s...

Further to my comments you might like to read the following article on the differences between S/PDIF and AES/EBU (AES3) http://www.rane.com/pdf/note149.pdf it's a bit techie but does explain potential pitfalls of going from S/PDIF to AES3 and has some wiring diagrams on how to convert cheaply. The pulsar2 plus (which is what I have too) has 'professional' connectors, ie. balanced XLRs for analogue audio and also XLRs for the AES/EBU digital standard. SPDIF is considered a 'consumer' format, although lots of pro audio gear uses it; you'll probably only encounter lots of AES stuff in televi...

Unless you're doing some mad DVD-A 96kHz surround mix or working a lot for television (48kHz) I really don't see the point in working in anything other than 44.1 (plus those audio files start geting pretty big). It might help if you can tell us the track name and artist. Certainly the Rhodes is number one contender, but it might be a Wurlitzer (a la Roxy Music - great sound). The EVP88 mentioned is quite flexible but only works on on Emagic systems and the VSTi version - EVP73 - is a cut-down which I think ...
