That security focus article has been questioned a few times. Its unclear whether its deliberate FUD or something that is actually occuring and being denied since the required legislation to give media companies the 'right' to invade your computer has been delayed in most of the nations that would be...

what version of Wavelab are you using (3/4/demo etc)? 1. Rendering with the 'render' button is independant of soundcard driver as it should be an 'offline render'. Would be a wavelab issue. 2. Learning how to route the signal within SFP yourself using the various modules you can load would clear up ...

Hah, the international SFP community comes to planetz to watch the unfolding drama and finds.... people resolving their differences in an amicable fashion? I also prefer to mix in pulsar, but I'm surprised noone has mentioned the problems that SFP suffers from. Most devices, when split across more than one dsp, will cause phase problems with stereo signals. The exception to this being the mixers which now have phase compensation switches (but this also...

If you ask me customers will gripe about having to pay for bugfixes and the like. This would only make sense for major versions...and even then what they would have to charge to include all of their plugins would be prohibitive for most users. Another 'propack' bundle would be nice to see though (wi...

About the ram: Yes you'll need 2 1GB sticks to get 2GB of ram. The reason that motherboard has only 2 slots is because it is using 32bit RDRAM. I believe (may be mistaken) that you can use only 1 stick at a time, since 32bit RDRAM is essentially 2 16bit sticks in a single package. About the Pulsar: ...

Not all IBM harddrives are good, though I'm using a <knock on wood> 36.7 Gb Ultrastar as my main workhorse. IBM actually sold off their harddrive division after problems with their newer high density technologies. Generally I avoid anything over 60Gb from any maker for work use due to higher failure...
