Re: 'Pulsar2 Analog Dest' is not appropriate for your hardwa
In fact I posted this today because I had tried off and on for a couple of hours to get it to boot. In the past I've noticed wiggling the board seems to help the most. Usually I do it to the Luna board but tried both especially the Pulsar2 and it finally loaded ok. Forgot to mention I'm on Win 7 64 ...

'Pulsar2 Analog Dest' is not appropriate for your hardware
Hi I've had an issue with my Pulsar2/Luna combo for years now. When I try loading Scope I get the error in the subject along with further errors of other hardware modules on the Pulsar2 not being found (MIDI, Spdif). Initially I thought it was down to the cable to I created my own STDM but the probl...

Re: Clicks and pops with Cubase 8.5
Not sure if this is any help, but i can confirm Cubase Artist 8.5 works nice (upgraded from 8.0.20 version) on Windows 10 64bit with Scope 5.1 driver. I never had any pops and click on my machine with any Cubase version. In cubase i don't have any special settings enabled, no asio guard, just asio ...

Re: Clicks and pops with Cubase 8.5
Did you try to switch on the ASIO guard? I experienced sudden CPU spikes when playing just a few tracks of audio and a few VSTs the other day. The ASIO guard solved the issue. My set up was Cubase Elements 8 64 bit, Win 7 64 bit, Scope 5.1. Neb Hi thanks, yes I tried a few settings off/low/med/high...

Clicks and pops with Cubase 8.5
Anyone successfully using 5.1 Win 7 64bit drivers and Cubase 8.5? 8.0.3 is fine, but 8.5 (including the new 8.5.10) gives me crackles and stutters even with playing just a few audio tracks and low cpu (10%). Have tried messing with the buffers etc... but to no avail. Just wondering if this is a glob...

Re: DIY PCI Breakout Cables Project with Pinout
Hi do you remember what the size of the dsub connector is? I just bought some 3 row 26pin connectors but they are too small. EDIT: never mind shouldn't have judged the size without unplugging first :) Same size, 'DA', as the original. Time to get to soldering as these dropouts are driving me up the ...

Volume drop on PSY-Q with Softclip off
Been testing PSY-Q today with the new upgrade I purchased yesterday. Noticed that when Softclip is turned off the volume drops about 3db from nominal. Is this some sort of safety mechanism so it doesn't clip? I tried countering this with a +3 boost on the output but that's post bypass for some reaso...

Re: Sonic Core's big 4 for 1 software items sale
Just came across this sale randomly while checking something unrelated (must not have an account at Soniccore's 'new' site so didn't get an email). Thank god I didn't miss it as would have been gutted:) Have been running the Win 7 compatibility mode method in 4.0 as 200 euro seemed a bit much just f...

You are right of course Medway. Going to try and get something with recall and maybe automation :) Brings me on to another question that only the experienced and old-hands will know about - SMTPE. Am I right in understanding that SMTP is timecode - you stripe a track with the timecode and then this...

I think the most common way to record nowadays is to record everything as 24 bit 44.1 Khz or 48 Khz, then only as a final step (after mastering) convert the 24 bit master to 16 bit, using dither to get rid of quatisation errors that would otherwise occur when downconverting. There is probably not g...

The only effect sample rate has on dynamic range is that by say doubling from 48 to 96 you put the overall noise across a wider range of frequencies. This means half of the the noise now resides around the audible range and the other half doesn't. This effectively reduces your noise floor by about ...

Sounds like your mixing bits and sample rate together into some problem that doesn't exist. Distortion from lack of bit depth is solved from dither and is done perfectly when applied correctly. Sample rate as long as it is according to Nyquist will be perfectly reconstructed with the filter. It's no...
