Re: PC rack for scope
The 4/6/14/15 DSP cards are taller than the 3 DSP cards. When the STDM cable is added, the 4/6/14/15 DSP cards become too tall for my 3U case.

Re: PC rack for scope
I have a 3U and a 4U case. In the 3U case only cards with 3 DSPs can be linked with STDM cables. The 4/6/14/15 DSP cards are slightly taller and can not be linked. The can work alone, though. If fan noise is an issue, a 4U case will also give you better options for low noise cooling.

Re: Intel board with i7 support and 3 pci slots looks good
Which rack case have you planned to buy? I have a 4U case and a 3U case. The 3U case does not have room for STDM cables on cards with more that 3 DSPs. The Luna cards are less tall, so these are the only cards you can link. My 4U case works just fine. Also, if you plan to use a big quiet CPU cooler,...

You write that it works perfectly with Creamware cards. Which cards have you tried it with? How many masterverbs can you load? I have the ASUS P8Q77-m motherboard, and it is miserable with Creamware cards.

Re: Intel board with i7 support and 3 pci slots looks good
Water cooling requires fans too. Recently, I purchased a CPU cooler from Noctura, and I was VERY surprised by the low noise level I can achieve with it. I have had a fanless PSU which created worse acoustic noise ...

operating system bit architecture is not related to the internal processing used by audio apps, it is only related to the ram address, so a 32 bit audio app can have an internal processing of 64 bits on a 32 bit operating system, and with pae enabled each application can use 3 GB of dedicated ram u...

Re: i7 3770 based PC upgrade useful for PCI pulsars or xite
When it comes to 'Motherboards working welll with Creamware PCI cards', the rule is not: "They work, unless otherwise proven" The rule is: "They may or may not work, until good or bad results have been confirmed". I had high hopes for my Asus P8Q77-M. As it turns out, it is proba...

Re: Is Sonic Core still alive
But to be fair,- one of the (fixable) issues w/ loading presets is the path for finding "modules" and "samples" etc.. The devices were done in a old SDK and presets were created in old SCOPE versions,- so the application now looks in different locations and finds nothing. Now, w...

If they have 4 DSPs each, they would be Pulsar 1 cards - not Scope 1 cards. These had 15 DSPs each.

Re: Intel board with i7 support and 3 pci slots looks good
Having said that, I only use the 3 PCI cards to run a couple of Bowen synths (ProWave, Profit 5) then ADAT that to XITE project - no reverbs or samplers etc. Maybe that doesnt use much PCI bandwidth anyway (??). I mean, it would use it during load time but not during performance - is that right ?? ...

Aah! I saw these pictures too. But when I looked at Neutron's picture, it appeared to me that they where single clamps used for two cables. Maybe they are individual clamps, which just sit shoulder to shoulder on the cards?

Re:
I finally did it. You can make them exactly for your situation. The middle one has to be slightly modified with a sharp knife and/or dremel if you want the cable to come out straight, the connectors are supposed to be for "ends" not in the middle of the cable. The spacing between PCI slot...
