Re: XITE-1 with extra software.

Sorry to see you leaving us so soon. :( I'll always be with you... in your heart. When I decided on the XITE-1 it was a bit of a coin toss. Hard to really tell if it's going to work in my world and now that I've had it for half a year I started doing an assessment and what I'm finding is that...

Re: Problems loosing channels after Rotor SE demo.

Wasn't there some DSP files you had to load for the Zarg synths? It's been a while for me so I really can't remember. Also, as he mentioned it's QW-SE not the full blown version so that actually loads a little better on the Xite. If you are on 64bit OS then you will need these files for Zarg synths...

True true. When I get it working it sounds very good but at a 2 voice max... That's ridiculous. Not worth it.

perhaps they're dsp overload messages?
Oh, sorry. It is an XITE-1 and the messages are all about not being able to find some DSP files. The files it's looking for are all there and ultimately it does seem to work.

I don't see how the UI can possibly take that much RAM when we have gigabytes of free RAM space these days. Stupid things like giant bit maps of wood panels and ludicrously stupid moves like having every key image be unique because your UI designer thought it would be cute to show some sort of glob...

Re: Problems loosing channels after Rotor SE demo.

OK, I had some more time to mess about with this earlier. First off, I have no idea what I was thinking when I wrote "Rotor SE." It was Quantum Wave SE. My mistake. I never got a demo code for Rotor. Here's what happens. I load up QW and I get the usual barrage of error messages. I click p...

Re: Is it worth to use scope boards with 96khz and kill 50%

Depending on the synth, it's often clear that running your system at 96 kHz makes a difference, especially when using audio rate modulation. I found when using Minimax that there wasn't that much of a difference. It appears that the code is already oversampling internally so it doesn't make a lot of...

Re: Problems loosing channels after Rotor SE demo.

multiple Scope cards... if not, i don't know what is wrong. the behavior is not normal. if it isn't fixed by rerunning the Scope installer, then the card is suspicious. you might try cleaning the contacts with 99% pure(not less!) alcogol or a commercial contact cleaner. you can try reseating the i/...

Re: Problems loosing channels after Rotor SE demo.

this kind of strange behavior is usually caused by a bad S/TDM cable. do you have more than one card? No... Oh wait, I do have a FireWire card installed in that machine. It's always been there and hasn't been used in a long time. Though, I suspect it's software related because I noticed that again ...

In the early 80s I was lucky to get a gig interning for Laurie Anderson on her Home Of The Brave movie project. Check it out if you have not seen it. Synclavier all over it. It was the heart of her set up... Well maybe next to her voice and violin. Anyway, her model was a later one that had the resy...

Voice allocator for Live (M4L)

I was getting super frustrated trying to do a pad sound in Modular/Flexor. I couldn't get more than 3 voices and the type of pad I was using could really use at least 6. So, I wondered what my DSP load was like, and it wasn't bad. It had more to do with lack of communication ports between DSP chips....

Problems loosing channels after Rotor SE demo.

I was playing around with the demo of Rotor SE. It seemed to work fine as I could see levels in the mixer, but no sound to my DAW. Replacing it with any other instruments fixed the problem. Then I clicked on the stereo button and I started getting sound out of Rotor, though on one channel. I put it ...

hey mate! those are all amazing ideas and some of those crossed our minds too as we were developing the synth but you also have to think macro and not just micro. feature creep is something that can go on forever - what about an lfo to modulate the lfo....... and an lfo to modulate that lfo? :) the...

It's been a bit since this came out and I just wanted to put out a bit of feedback about the plug in. The whole thing does sound very nice but it seems to be missing some stuff that could make it great. See that blank space next to the aftertouch control in the filter section? What if "OSC2&quo...

Re: Scope VS VST's

Even U-He is always dealing with CPU for their VST's, which makes the point that Scope's DSP approach is still superior. http://youtu.be/QnHof-2bIfA Well, superior for some things. CPU is a resource, but so it DSP. Running out of it using native plug ins is no less frustrating than running out of i...
