Re: Solid Rock (Goanna)

That's the problem, being a city slicker I've never seen the real outback (only the country driving between Sydney and Melbourne, and a few NSW coastal towns). Anyway part of what inspired me to do this track (other than liking it) was watching this Stan series from 2007 - 2010 : https://www.stan.co...

Solid Rock (Goanna)

Classic Aussie hit from 1982 from a band that started in Geelong (not far from Melbourne). Singer Songwriter Shane Howard wrote "The whole experience of travelling through aboriginal Australia and awakening to that cultural reality made me ask the question, okay where do I fit here? In this lan...

Re: Is the new Scope 7 finally XTC compatible?

I recently found this in an old SOS review of the old Creamware XTC mode - about 'Direct Play'. Its basically what I'm doing anyway in using the XITE-1D as an external MIDI instrument & routing back via ADAT. But useful to know for those contemplating a similar use case assuming a modern incarna...

The pinouts are here : https://sdiy.info/wiki/Yamaha_DB50XG After further digging for the source article I found the following : https://www.elektormagazine.com/magazine/elektor-199707/33902 I think you have to pay Elektor a couple of euro to get the full article. Not sure if its in English or Dutch...

Re: First sound card.

@ t_tangent - Do you still have computer that an run Turtle Beach - is that ISA or PCI ? I future proofed my DB50XG by having it rack mounted so it works just like a synth module. With XG-Gold still working on Win10 x64 the combo works a treat. Hi Dante, Yes, ISA slot on an old Gigabyte mobo I thin...

Re: Scope on ARM (Apple M1)

Haha Dante has a 3000e hardware that permits latencies for all signal path of all effects down to 1ms from 2001, but he is strugling with latency inducing effects and wants to disable them... I don't struggle with latencies at all. He uses 2 daws and 3 different mixers because one mixer says it is ...

Re: Scope on ARM (Apple M1)

Confusing workflow - maybe, at least until you learn it. Then no more confusing than manually disabling things that cause latency when you don't need them. Seems to me all they're trying to do is put a framework around managing latency by handling roundtrips internally and at the user level - 'modes...

Re: Scope on ARM (Apple M1)

Getting my head around UAD ARM (not to be confused with Apple ARM). Might be useful in taking a step back from comparisons to Scope modes.

Re: Scope on ARM (Apple M1)

Scope can already achieve effects in series all being processed on DSP without round trip to DAW, but only in Scope mode. In XTC mode it wont be able to achieve that because of the native DAW (unless that MultiFX thing can do it). Thats where Julian's ParseQ would have been awesome - to have full co...
