Re: Moog Modular Interview - who is this early adopter ?
Not so much debt as collaboration I think. Switched on Bach was a 3 way collaboration in that sense - Bach, Carlos and Moog.

Re: A mere 3 DSP, no good?
A 3 DSP card would probably do that job at 44Khz sample rate.

Re: Connecting into another soundcard for general Windows stuff
I use my Zoom UAC-8 to play youtube, VST and Rack Extension demos, as my $4000 Apollo and $3000 XITE-1D don't support it.

Re: Liking Arturia JP8 update
VST2 ver for Linux only - not windows as far as I can tell. Ill leave the shootout to those that have VST3 host handy. Id say buyed TAL if you have VST3 host and not already bought into the Arturia ecosystem and want authenticity over FX.

Re: Liking Arturia JP8 update
Not easily, I think TAL is VST3, whereas my DAW - Reason - only takes VST2. I could try it in Harrison, which now takes VST3, but I haven't set Harrison up for MIDI properly yet, so will experiment when I get bit more time.

Alyseum 8x8 off my radar as its not rack mount. Motu MIDI express 128 looks to be next choice.

Liking Arturia JP8 update
At last Arturia have brought JP8 up to date this century. Maybe they're trying to keep up w/- the u-He's of the world. I'm liking mod wheel controlling pan on a couple of the presets & other overall sound improvements incl dispersion. There was a small upgrade fee of maybe $50 aud

Re: M-Audio MIDISPORT USB 64-bit MIDI device driver for MacOS v10.14+
Think I’ll leave it alone now because other problem is if I buyed a rack midi interface now then in a year or two some new ones come supporting MIDI 2 (incl MPE) - then all MIDI 1 gears will be obsolete

Ya those Blokas look versatile but I prefer rack mount so might consider one of the MOTU. If anyone knows they handle sysex good....

Re: M-Audio MIDISPORT USB 64-bit MIDI device driver for MacOS v10.14+
Windoze - no Mac here. The MIDI Sport I use to merge sysex from a laptop with midi from my keyboard. Connected to XITE Midi IN. The sysex comes from laptop with XG-Gold installed on it so I can use that to access the QS300 banks on my rack mount DB50XG. Works a treat. I didn't want to install XG-Gol...

Re: M-Audio MIDISPORT USB 64-bit MIDI device driver for MacOS v10.14+
I have the MIdisport and the MIDEX8 but don’t use em as I’m all ITB now. The MIDEX had problems with sysex.

....and Logic and Waveform - and in the hardware domain - Eurorack. I would like to try it on Shreddage Slide Guitar someday....or try using Omnisphere to build drones or pads that allow you to hold a single chord but blend between different timbres using slides or aftertouch... Reason users have be...

Re: Sequential add mpe to Prophet-6 and OB-6
Polyphonic expression - so if you push harder on the middle note of a triad it can modulate at a different rate than the other 2 notes ?
Apparently Serum, Hive, Bazille, Reaktor and Omnisphere support it. And Linnstrument of course.

Re: Is the new Scope 7 finally XTC compatible?
Well UAD dont have DSP VST (their Luna minimoog and stuff are native) so not relevant there.. Reason allows render in place for individual tracks, or you can stem the lot out in one go into an export folder which I use all the time. It also allows render with or without insert FX and normalisation. ...

Re: Is the new Scope 7 finally XTC compatible?
The only advantage to using XTC + direct outputs for recording is that you can manage the project entirely from the DAW/host...in terms of loading instruments and managing the overall mix. That depends. The other advantage Id like to see is whether its possible for a DAW (Reason) to 'Render In Plac...

Re: Is the new Scope 7 finally XTC compatible?
Partly. With Direct Play that should be possible. During tracking / arranging I use Reason SSL as a mix monitor for all DAW parts except for Scope synths. Then I record the Scope synths as audio back into Reason via ADAT=>Apollo before exporting all from Reason to mix in Harrison Mixbus. Recording S...

Re: Is the new Scope 7 finally XTC compatible?
ASIO isn't avoided, it simply feeds a live signal to the outputs while still passing the signal back to the ASIO driver and to the DAW/audio host attached to the driver. Ie, the 'direct sound' goes directly to the outputs in addition to the asio driver. Sure - but if your not mixing via the ASIO pa...

Re: Is the new Scope 7 finally XTC compatible?
Yes this board still offers a lot. Gary should know about what’s happening. I think XTC has a lot to offer as long as latency is checked in context. For effects, avoid chaining devices where each device incurs its own round trip to the hardware (eg use of a Multi FX wrapper) . For instruments, ASIO...
