Re: The new UA recording system - L U N A

Yeah I have to do some manual PDC on mostly vocal tracks. It’s great you have all that outboard to color your mixes with.

I’d like a Fat Rack Valve one like

Re: The new UA recording system - L U N A

Agreed. That's exactly it about coloring, and the lack of from digital daws (even with their EQ & Comp which is still digital) that's the issue I've been trying to address by using MB32. A h/ware summer is another (albeit more expensive) approach.

Re: Dynatube bass bundle vs line6 basspod.

Some info here if you havent seen it already : https://www.scopeusers.com/ScopeRise/is ... nabass.htm

I'm not using it at present because it doesnt supports 96Khz. But not an issue if you're working at 44 or 48Khz.

Re: The new UA recording system - L U N A

Not having looked at the documentation, if that's a summing mixer it won't have Pre's so (if it's passive) likely no input transformers or valves. I see mute/solo/on, Level (input gain?) & pan, and output with what looks like an insert point (that's again my presumption, intended for master compres...

Re: The new UA recording system - L U N A

Interesting - they have also an 8 x 2 rack mountable summing mixer that could be used in a DAW context (you’d have to get decent converters as well - although my Zoom could do that ). It doesn’t say it’s Tubes like the mixer though - I expect for 5 large maybe it’s not. Good to see someone’s making ...

Re: The new UA recording system - L U N A

The similarities between Scope and UAD are like chalk and cheese to me and very, very use case dependent. I use them and native processors all for different complimentary purposes. UAD is a long way off what I use Scope for and vice versa. As is Rack Extension vs VST vs Reason SSL vs Harrison MB32. ...

Re: connecting XITEs with XTDM ?

IIRC the xtdm on xite isn’t active and was fir future expansion-so there’s no project ‘driver’ object for it

Re: The new UA recording system - L U N A

If they stole anything at all, the most important part of what they’re doing (sonically which is where it matters) comes from Harrison, not Scope.

Nothing special. Just a cheap synth I guess. Don’t think I have it actually as Bowen stuff is my goto synth fir current projects.

Good video - explains a lot for those (like me) who haven’t been on his forum for a while. That TT looks like a mighty fine machine.

Re: Welcome To Nevada

Character - its that UAD or Harrison (I think its the latter and/or Metric Halo) ? Well, I make a lot of music for a hobbyist. I've remixed 80 tracks in Harrison / UAD since I get em and the classic sound is the big focus so to me its good that they specialise in that (I have Scope and Reason for th...

Re: Solaris HW tabletop & 1U "19 rack versions

Bummer - I thought SC was doing the editor. Probably just as well - as I've blown my budget on the i9 so pocket in no shape to buyed a 1U now anyways, but I would have really liked the standalone one, TFT and knobs or not.

Wonder if the editor could be made in SoundDiver ?

Re: Welcome To Nevada

I was referring more to emulating vintage pedigree as a business model rather than creating tools that exist on their own, in their own right. I'm not opposed to the former, but UAD has done little of the latter. Themselves UAD havent done much other than the classic, but theres some some 3rd party...
