Re: SpaceF Fats

What if you put separate fats on each side ? ( left /right ) or would you be better of applying some mid/side or other stereo widening processor in series after ?

Re: Wont get fooled again - unless I fool myself

Ain't gonna happen. There's simply too many domestic, space and practical constraints of my 'room' - Im lucky to have a 4 octave keyboard in there. It really is a shoebox. In principal I agree with you, but that's where it ends. My dream studio would be based around a Harrison 950mx, in a room (or t...

Re: Wont get fooled again - unless I fool myself

Yeah, I read about some Abbey Rd room simulator I mean why the hell would you want to add when the idea (like you say) is to subtract ? At the moment Ill just continue 'triangulating' my mixes by alternating between Tannoys, Car speakers, Beats earbuds and the HD280's. Generally if I get it right on...

Re: Wont get fooled again - unless I fool myself

A friend of mine uses all kinds of speakers to get his mixes finished. ( monitor boxes, cheap mobiles, mono bluetooth boxes..) Is there a strategy to turn headphones into perfect monitoring boxes by compensating their glitches with EQ ? Oh yeah - forgot to mention - Sonarworks is the other one that...

Re: SpaceF Fats

Heres a pic of the Cumulative Magic in Mixbus - the Drive knobs on each channel which I rarely touch - but the Acoustic guitar track was unfortunately recorded with a bit of distortion so I cut the drive. Pic shows hardware routing to my Zoom UAC-8 - which Ive more or less left on default so whats p...

Re: Wont get fooled again - unless I fool myself

Sure is. I cant jog much fast, due to injury from 4 decades ago but with slightly modified footwear I can kinda sprint short enough distance to get to train in morning if running late. I try to walk 10- 15K steps a day whereas during US visit this time last year I could only manage 1/2 that. Yep ove...

Re: Wont get fooled again - unless I fool myself

The way I see it - theres 3 stages in the process where phase can cause issues : 1) During live recording - you have a string section and 2 mics and due to mic placement or room conditions there's some phase cancellation capturing the string section to stereo. To me, as well as ears, this is where a...

And mixing at 4am? From my own experience, my best mixes are with fresh ears - in the morning. Ideally, the track and its finesses still fresh in my head from the night before.
4am IS in the morning - that's when I wake up to do them sometimes - maybe as early 3:30am:)

Re: Wont get fooled again - unless I fool myself

I checked out https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/bl ... system-one - so you mix in surround ? Do you turn off the extra speakers to see how it sounds in stereo only ?

Re: Wont get fooled again - unless I fool myself

Oh phase issues, I remember using the phase correlation meter in DAS MasterIT when I first got it, but the reading was always more than half way between 0 and + 1 https://www.scopeusers.com/ScopeRise/issue_04/brikmast.htm After a while I never bothered to check it, because it was always like that an...

CrossOver (to Ancient Egypt).

I made this by remixing a song from previous album in Harrison (the original I posted here as well so its not new - just the mix and video). The video I made by plugging in a USB drive to my Xbox One X, recording game play and tour footage then using Magix Video Edit Pro Premium to weave in some oth...

Re: Could this be the Shreddage Killer ?

So Marco that was you playing IronAxe ? And you did those arrangements ? Its shit hot man ! There were only a couple of places I thought 'yeah that's a bit keyboardish' but overall - and if you composed it all you got some great chops all round dude ! But that's what I mean - a couple of years ago I...

Re: Wont get fooled again - unless I fool myself

     do things however you like! it's a good idea to check for missing audio using loudspeakers at some point early on, if you mix in phones. Yeah, when I'm no longer alone in house the only speakers I can listen to are the car stereo but I've got those EQ'd to the max to t...
