Any chance your motherboard battery might have gone dead and put you in a situation where you are getting boot-default settings? New batteries aren't too difficult to find if that's the case. Eureka !!!! That was exactly the problem. Out of frustration I took my PC to a computer repair shop and the...

I don't know, but I doubt it. If I was getting boot default settings I would presume that the changes I mad...

Weird PC Problem- I Don't Know What The Heck Is Happening!!!
Hello, I don't quite know how to begin explaining this. I have an ASUS P800 Deluxe motherboard and 3 Pulsar cards installed ( two 6 DSPs and one 4 DSP), two hard drives, Matrox graphic card and 3.01 GHz. About once a year I do a wipe of my hard drives ( to get rid of all the crud like demos and thin...

What Is The Point Of DXi SynthsOver VST?
Hello,
Maybe a stupid question, but one I don't know the answer to.
Is there any point in installing a DXi version of a synth when installing the VST?
If so, what would be the point? I am often given a choice and am never sure what to do.
Thanks

I tried different media thinking that may be it , also disabling the writer in Device Manager and allowing Windows to detect it automatically. In Device Manager...

Weird DVD Drive Problem. Please Help.
Hello, Could anyone out there shed some light on a weird problem? For some unknown reason, what used to be my DVD writer is now a CD writer! It won't write DVDs even though it used to. It will only write CDS now. I have made a few changes, such as changing my hard drive as it was fucked, and changin...

not half speed, but not as efficient as pairs. since you have done it this way, fine. does it work well?(i bet it's fine) next time you can go the route of pairs. It works, but I don't notice any real improvement in CPU. However, I went to my local computer shop and asked the their opinion. The sal...

Another Computer Problem. This Time RAM.
I recently replaced my hard drive and thought while I'm at it get another 1 GB of RAM. However When I previously had 512 MB, it now reads 256MB, when I should have about 1500MB. Any possible explanations? As far as I know I have the right type of RAM. But I am going by faith in the salesman who sold...

Thanks for the reply Stardust. A few more questions though: 1) Is it best to partition the drive into 3? So Operating System. Programs and Data? 2) If so, what sizes would you suggest? I have just bought a new 400GB drive. 3) As far as installing programs go, do you let them install in their default...

Hard Drive Question and Partitioning.
Hello, I have been experiencing bootup problems. For example, I would boot up the PC and it just keeps rebooting. Yesterday it kept doing it for an hour and a half. When it finally kicked into gear, I did a CHKDSK via RUN and it discovered bad sectors. 1) Does that mean my HD is screwed? 2) I will b...
