Re: Problem with Pusar and Cubase
I use two machines!
The Scope PC can be whatever it needs to be. Both my PCI based system and my Xite (PCIe) are running 2015/16 era workstation boards with 4 core Xeon chips, and have zero issues aside from the few documented concerns with Scope 7 on 64bit.
The downside is heat, but I have way ...

Re: Problem with Pusar and Cubase
I'm using RME now and I'm at the stage where it's difficult for me to install and try Pulsar, but when I'm able I'll let you know the result.fidox wrote: Sat Jul 13, 2024 11:11 am This was my original post, then at the end of post I figured out the solution for me

Re: Problem with Pusar and Cubase
Scope platform works just nice with, I have :
Windows 10 64bit - Scope 7 - Cubase 13 Artist
Windows 11 64bit (also worked with Windows 10) - Scope 5 - Cubase Elements 12
Just remembered, since I had some problems running Cubase Elements 12-Scope 5 (ASIO was not recognized) ,try this :
Thanks! I ...

Re: Problem with Pusar and Cubase
for Cubase, i would use either an ASIO2 source or an ASIO2 flt source and an ASIO2 dest.
I tried both combinations. Here I have attached a picture of the project that worked normally for me before the capacitors on the card were changed.
It seems that there was a hardware error... The only ...

Re: Problem with Pusar and Cubase
Are you sure?
Version 5 worked fine for me with windows 10 before I changed the capacitors. Probably there was some error that I don't know how to solve.

Problem with Pusar and Cubase
After 4-5 years, I finally changed all the capacitors on the Pulsar 2 card and installed it in the computer. Media Player works normally, but with Cubase I have an ERROR - ASIO drivers cannot be loaded.
Does anyone know what the problem is?

Re: Pulsar wont wok
Just to report. The card has been repaired. First, all the capacitors were changed, but that did not solve the problem. Now I finally changed the stabilizer and the Pulsar is now like new.
Thank you all!
Thank you all!

Re: A communication error with Pulsar2 (brd 0) has occured.
It's not that I don't want to help you, It's that I question your ability to do the repair if you don't even know how to identify a transistor. It's really easy to do damage to the card & you may do more damage than good. All the parts are labeled clearly on top of each component, the power mosfet ...

Re: A communication error with Pulsar2 (brd 0) has occured.
Yes. You're right, this is the one for a P2.
I had a look at my cards, so here are the mosfet for P2, Luna and scope.
For P2, the datasheet can be found here.

Re: A communication error with Pulsar2 (brd 0) has occured.
The part of the voltage regulator is the black quare part with I*R 3103S labeled on it.. on my scope card, so I suppose pulser2 is the same.
You can buy them from aliexpress and you need some soldering skills to remove it.
For a pulsar2 the price in germany is in the order of 200 Euros, so there ...

That's half his fee, it's a very fair offer, and keeps your keys and other investments intact. Worth considering.

Don't ever bake anything but cookies & cakes!
Have you tried to replace the power mosfet transistor ?
I can give that a try for you.. If it works I'll charge $125.00 + Shipping.
If not, I will put your old one back on and send it back to you, all you pay is shipping.

Re: A communication error with Pulsar2 (brd 0) has occured.
I have the same problem here. I did a recap, but it didn't help. I tried on 3 different computers and it always gives the same error.
The installation of the software and the driver pass normal, Device Managger shows Pulsar, but instead of Scope it always shows this dialog with the same error.

Capacitators marked with red is 47uF 6.3v
The two caps marked yellow are 47uf 16v
The blue mark is cleaned solder pads without a 47uF 6.3v.
I have ordred parts from Elfa, and i have to double check if the dimension is correct.
I can upload a video of how i recap the board next week :)
