Re: SSD FRESH, highly recommended utility for your PC

Modern versions of Windows have formatted SSD's for proper sector alignment for some time. Early versions of Win7 were questionable, though technically XP is the last OS that didn't attend to this the last I checked (Win7 updated should, as should commercial/enterprise ISO's).

Re: forum instabilities ?

I can show you the logs if you want, nothing has been unusual with phpbb, the slot hosting it or my overall webserver (0sec downtime in the last 14 months, and the only downtime prior was either from DDOS--which has mostly abated to be normal for any internet exposed box--or via a server move which ...

Re: no sound after dsp assignment ?

What I'm interested in is knowing what the limitations are so they can be worked with/around, rather than dithering over the fact that they exist. A $300 soundcard and cheap mac laptop or a tablet clearly offers a more seamless modern software workflow. But I have that too... So I'm interested in kn...

Re: no sound after dsp assignment ?

I haven't had time to use Xite because I have to build the machine to use it, and there's just not a pressing need. I have it for gigs, the PCI cards work fine in the home. And the 4,999 other people who have signed up here are all in various states of their learning process, as the (current) forum ...

Re: no sound after dsp assignment ?

delete all unnecesseary modules. assign the z-links modules to a specific dsp untl it works. i.e. the z-link modules should have a dsp that is used by these. find it by changing the assigned dsp. if you get output you found the dsp. assign the channels to this dsp or find the dsp that has the most ...

Re: no sound after dsp assignment ?

What a bunch of clowns... Pardon? We're here to learn, not to lord over one another with the limited knowledge we have gained. I'm thankful to have an Xite now myself, but do wish I had more time to explore the tools and contribute more, as it's been sitting unused for months due to health concerns...

Re: no sound after dsp assignment ?

The question seems to be reloading older projects, in which case perhaps devices that are NOT a part of Scope 7 might be part of the issue? Ie, devices that predate the update from 3rd parties, or etc.

I need to start using my Xite so I can better participate in these discussions

Re: Cool Gear PCI to PCI Expansion

Personally, I would still opt for a slightly older system to host Scope and connect it via adat etc, as I think you get a 100% stable Scope system and the ability to run your DAW machine without compromises for Scope. But since that's my path, it would make sense as my preference. Best of luck and I...

Re: DAW Win 10 64 new installation, GLITCHES!

Win10 here. I undid most of my BIOS changes. I do believe I left C1e, C5/6/etc disabled but C1/2/3/4 are enabled, as is EIST. I set a PCI priority of 64 for the system bus, and check my Nvidia drivers to make sure they don't give realtime spikes. On that note, I have an AMD consumer board (not my Sc...

Re: Cool Gear PCI to PCI Expansion

For Supermicro we can look at their motherboard matrix: https://www.supermicro.com/en/products/motherboards/matrix In the 12th generation (X12 boards), you are correct there is only 1 PCI slot on those Supermicro boards. But these are intended for consumer applications. Going backwards in generation...
