I really cannot recommend a gigabyte for pulsar right now...I have several problem with mine, especially pci reach, with 7 dsp i can load only 3/4 masterverb...they are really good motherboards but not suited for scope...Go intel , this the safiest way...

With my old system, i can mix with asio 24 bit, now it's impossible...I just wandering if install a newer pulsar card as a master board,using the pulsar 1 as a slave, does this reduce the pci stress ? I suppose i have to use a stdm cable and make a new install...But maybe the problem could be just ...

Thank you for your reply Astro...Yes my board is a pulsar1 and the synth is Minimax...You are right...In fact the problem appears in a chaotic way...So it can confirm that's a problem with my pulsar one...i have just to become rich and bought a x-cite...

Thank you for your reply...I have only a pulsar one but i want add some boards in the next future...So i need a motherboard with pci slots...I use some vst and cubase Vst5.1 (yes, i am really a vintage guy...) , i project to buy ableton live too...... I really, really prefer the sound of the pulsar ...

So l am making a big jump, leaving there Window 98 :o and going to window Xp (!!!)...I need a new system but i am totally lost in the actual specs of the motherboards, processors...I dont need the late state of art but a good, reliable (and cheap!!!) system for my pulsar ...I really prefer intel ...

Thank you all for your reply...I feel less anxious now. My cubase version is effectively 5.1r2pb1...But i vaguely remenber that r2pb1 was a patch, and i can only find the cd with 5.1...Am i wrong? If r2pb1 is a patch , is there a place to download it? I can find nothing on steinberg ftp...but maybe ...

Thank you Stardust...But maybe it's not necessary to open my pc to see it, if you click right on "analog input" (or any input/output) in the routing window, you have a serial number wich appears...Is this the good one ?
