Re: Is it worth to use scope boards with 96khz and kill 50%

Here is another quick test, with minimax.

Re: Is it worth to use scope boards with 96khz and kill 50%

Here is the test again with the chorus/flanger turned off this time . It's a 256 kbps mp3 file. There seems to be a very slight difference. It starts with 96 and then switches back and forth.

Re: Is it worth to use scope boards with 96khz and kill 50%

After some more testing I have concluded that the chorus/flanger effect doesn't work in 96 kHz. That explains the difference, I couldn't hear any difference when I removed that effect. So 96 kHz might be a waste of power if you are using oversampled devices, and some parts of the synth might not wor...

Re: Is it worth to use scope boards with 96khz and kill 50%

I did test with profit 5. The first seconds is 96 the rest is 44 kHz. This is proof that 96 kHz sounds different even on synths that oversamples.
It's easy to try different patches and see how bitrate affects the sound as long as you don't have the daw connected.

Re: Scope VS VST's

From my subjective point of view, greatness seems to be pouring out of my Xite like milk and honey without much effort. I have never experienced anything like it from VST's and VA synths, but rather the opposite. In 44 kHz mode it's really great, in 96 kHz mode it's like a dream. It wouldn't be far ...

Re: Scope VS VST's

Did you run scope in 96 khz or 44 khz when you did the comparison?

Re: Which plugins should I avoid on Xite-1 in 96 kHz mode?

So a workaround could be to create a template in Scope with Pro-Wave included from the start. Presets could be handled with a midi clone plugin, either in Scope or in the DAW as a VST. All controls of Pro-Wave needs to be assigned to CC's in SDK and saved as a device. I have thought of doing that fo...

Re: Which plugins should I avoid on Xite-1 in 96 kHz mode?

I guess it also depends on which music it is. If a lot of recorded sounds are used then it might not matter so much. But if it is electronic music based only on synths and you want a smooth and precise sound then I think the difference can easily be worth it based on my quick tests. Especially if yo...

Re: Which plugins should I avoid on Xite-1 in 96 kHz mode?

I don't know about Pro-One. With me Solaris and Pro-wave could work but were too problematic and had me jumping threw too many whoops. In the end I found them not worth the time. Often once a project is bombarded with dialog box's due to errors the whole project can be ruined and those synths did t...

Re: Which plugins should I avoid on Xite-1 in 96 kHz mode?

Thanks for the quick answer. So Zarg Pro-Wave doesn't work. Does Zarg Pro-One work? I found this thread. I guess he's saying that positioning asio on dsp 10 might allow more channels. http://forums.scopeusers.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=33296&p=308811&hilit=asio+channels#p308811 I'll keep Ce...

Which plugins should I avoid on Xite-1 in 96 kHz mode?

I noticed that running synths in 96 kHz mode sounded a bit better compared to 44,1 kHz. Is there some plugins I should avoid when running Xite-1 in 96 kHz mode? I read that some of zargs synths use to many sat-connections like Solaris and maybe Pro One? Is there other synths and fx that I probably s...

Re: Question about using Xite-1 as a synth module in 96 kHz

Nope, there's no way to do this. Tried and played around. But it seems that you cannot assign a MIDI controller to a combo box. Ok, most of the vintage synths doesn’t have combo boxes so it shouldn’t be that big of a problem though, maybe all controllers on minimax and profit 5 works? I’m still a b...

Re: Questions about using Xite-1 as a synth module in 96 kHz

Are you sure that it isn’t possible to assign the oscillator type to a cc value in SDK. Just because it can’t be stored in the cc preset might not mean it isn’t possible to assign it in SDK, or that is at least the impression I get from djmicrons reply that I linked to. (I should get SDK myself but ...

Re: Question about using Xite-1 as a synth module in 96 kHz

Here is one idea if the SDK method works: Take two bcr/bcf2000, assemble them into one unit with wooden sides. Make printed laminated overlays for different synths and effects that can be swapped in 10 seconds (small magnets might be the best solution to hold them in place). Set it up so that the li...

Re: Question about using Xite-1 as a synth module in 96 kHz

I like how I can give people order at this forum after the 6th post :D No seriously, if you are interested in it yourself and want to do some tests then that’s great.
I'll probably get the Xite-1 anyway though, it's not really a deal breaker I think but it surely would be nice if it worked.
