Re: WTB: Creamware/Sonicore/Ferrofish A16 or Pulse 16
Bud, Thanks for your input & comments My cables are fine as I have one remaining working A16U so I can test on this and no issues there. The A16U that went down actually was connected via ADAT directly from a RME RAYDAT. It's not cables, I checked/swapped them to test - you can't change the sync...

Re: WTB: Creamware/Sonicore/Ferrofish A16 or Pulse 16
Thanks for your reply @nebelfuerst Z-link is a pretty good link, superior to Adat. Adat now works well, but it required lots of tweaking and high quality cabling. Totally agree. I've got my DAW machine (not Scope, RME) connecting via ADAT into my standalone Scope rig, which then feeds an A16U. I was...

Re: WTB: Creamware/Sonicore/Ferrofish A16 or Pulse 16
FWIW a word of warning for those considering a used A16U I'm on my 3rd (and last) A16 Ultra - Over the past 15 years I've replaced my original A16 TWICE with used units as I've now had 2 go down on me. I'd happily pay to get them fixed but apparently they're now unrepairable or cost prohibitive depe...

Re: Scope PCI cards clicks & pops - Windows 7 & Cubase 10
OK, reporting back with how I resolved my problem here. My solution, was quite simply separating the DAW from Scope with a (significant/serious) upgrade to the main machine (i9 12 core, professionally built & configured/tuned etc) to run Cubase 10 in W10 and associated plugins......finally (FINA...

Re: voltage problem with 3 cards ?
ah yes, the old pci bus bandwidth issue.... If you're happy to use Scope environment as a standalone device (ie not interacting with any current day software) the cheapest and easiest option I have found to keep pci cards alive and kicking has been to maintain secondary/supporting offline older PC's...

Re: Scope PCI cards clicks & pops - Windows 7 & Cubase 10
..... and had to reconfigure my system setp therefore. My in/out is handled now with a rockstable rme device/driver and scope delibers through adat into it. For me this is ok and I have all I need. yeah that's the path I've resolved to taking now too......I've got other complexities in my system an...

Re: Scope PCI cards clicks & pops - Windows 7 & Cubase 10
Thanks Gary... Just to clarify sample library is rarely ever used - really only when I get into Ableton productions and need to access some loops or the odd drum sample - have touched it for a year or more, it's just there as collected over the years, but appreciate the tip - will look at that - to ...

Re: Scope PCI cards clicks & pops - Windows 7 & Cubase 10
ATAPI? Is there still an external volume going in this case, or are you using software to load ISO's and the like? Nope, no external volume exists (I'm assuming you're referring to like a CD or DVD drive??) Why would I load "ISO"'s? Are you referring to when say originally windows 7 was i...

Re: Scope PCI cards clicks & pops - Windows 7 & Cubase 10
i guess it just depends on what is more important, this computer that is either set up incorrectly, or just does not work, correctly, or the UAD and Scope and outboards and audio... My time is the most important, for making music & the associated creative process, everything else gear related j...

Re: My A16 Ultra's going to trash..
I've had A16U switch fails in the past, easily repaired/replaced. Currently have one of my unit switches going dodgy, but I now just leave it on - can't remember last time I actually physically switched it off.....will get it repaired when it finally fails I've also still got a broken A16U unit that...

valis - thank you for taking the time to put down such a detailed explanation / lesson in all things USB Just to clarify, the external drive in question is a just a standard powered Seagate Expansion magnetic drive connected via USB - so I assume this is even worse in terms of timing (than a SSD.......

Re: Scope PCI cards clicks & pops - Windows 7 & Cubase 10
Thanks for that OK so clearly a massive fail with trying to use an external USB drive for audio  Will try that. If I disable the "8C2D" (a good name for a Droid  ) is it then a matter of trial and error with identifying the particular USB ports that will be lost? I assume this wo...

Re: Scope PCI cards clicks & pops - Windows 7 & Cubase 10
Gary, thanks for your response that is not the place to check IRQ settings. you want system information\hardware resources\conflicts/sharing. I've attached IRQ sharing from System Info IMG_6197.jpg IMG_6198.jpg IRQ 16 - is that an issue? IMG_6199.jpg IMG_6200.jpg what is the USB problem? It seems th...

Thanks for your suggestion - looks like you have your set-up pretty well sorted I've posted my dilemma in Problem Solving area How much ASIO are you running in Scope? As mine is loaded up possibly this is the issue for me It may not be an issue for people who are totally mixing down ITB once they ha...
