Modern 2019 motherboard with PCI slots
Hello all, I know this is an old topic, but interested to know if anyone has positive experience with new mother boards offering native pci slots to continue to run my Pulsars / Luna. My trusty old xeon workstation is about to die and I want to build something tquick, with lots of memory & adequ...

Re: Z-link Card 1, ADAT card 2. Any known latency / phase issues?
I would still be grateful for any views on if using i/o from 2 cards (z-link on luna2 and adat on pulsar2) would introduce any latency or phase issues. Both cards are connected via STDM cable. I would route both sources to ASIO ( my DAW). ps- Mr Tangent, i was just thanking you for your willingness ...

Re: Z-link Card 1, ADAT card 2. Any known latency / phase issues?
Thats great to hear. Yes sometimes it is something really simple that fixes it. I had a feeling it might be someting like that, as I had a similar issue once with some ADAT cables that were too fat around the end after the actual connector part, so they didnt fit properly. Anyway, glad its working ...

Re: Z-link Card 1, ADAT card 2. Any known latency / phase issues?
I have 'fixed' the problem. It was late and I was being dumb. The cause was my 'new' pc casing - it didn't allow me to fully seat the cables into the sockets properly as the gap in the casing was too small for the plastic end of the connector to properly pass through. To fix it, rather than take a m...

Z-link Card 1, ADAT card 2. Any known latency / phase issues?
Hello, Firstly sorry if this question has been answered elesewhere. I did search but can't find anything. I am using a pulsar 2 and a luna 2 connected via stdm. I seem to have an issue with my pulsar 2 which has 2 x z-link ports and 1 x adat in/out. The z-link sockets (both a & b) intermittently...

Forgot to ask, is this setup guide also applicable to Scope 7 now that it is more optimised for W10 ?

Re: setting up your computer
Hi Gary, I have just had to replace my pc with an old quadcore HPxw4600 so i can continue to use my old pci cards (lunar 2 and a pulsar 2). The machine doesn't seem to have hyperthreading as a bios option, but it does have a bios option called 'multi-processor'. Any thoughts on if i should disable t...

Re: Help ! Has my old faithful Pulsar 2 finally died ?
Same issue with cold systems and warm. No messing around with system prior to failure. It just started to generate DSP / connection errors BUT with some jiggery pokery I could always get Scope to load. Now however, no loading of scope possible and just the errors posted earlier. Heres pics of the ca...

Re: Help ! Has my old faithful Pulsar 2 finally died ?
RA - Thanks for your kind response. Yep. Tried it as a single card in all pci slots of 2 machines which have worked perfectly with pci cards for many years. I don't see any visual cues on the card that anything is burnt out or burst, but i did notice card was running hot. All looks good in Device Ma...

Help ! Has my old faithful Pulsar 2 finally died ?
Greetings, I have a feeling my Pulsar 2 may have finally died. I have it cascaded with a luna 2 . A couple of weeks ago it started giving DSP and communication errors, and now will not load at all. I have removed the pulsar and the luna is working fine. I have also tested pulsar on it's own & it...
