Re: from out of left field ... now with M1 chips, what about Scope 7.1 availability?

They're already basically a yearly sub model, so switching that to monthly with a lower yearly buy-in than we have seen before would simply be following what Adobe did after Adobe C6 & their Master Collection. Do I like this? No. Is it inevitable for companies that market to the lower ends of t...

Re: from out of left field ... now with M1 chips, what about Scope 7.1 availability?

So if in some future all leading DAWs are native working on Apple Silicon, SC might consider this market. At the moment it would be a waste of recources IMHO. Jajajaja... Top music software developers are working at 200 mph to get ready for this transition. Others do it at 0.1 mph ... (checks the m...

Re: Scope on ARM (Apple M1)

In this forum there are a lot of non-experts posing as ones. They get their education from advertisment leaflets. I am out of here... Also the T-shirt shucks... who designed it? Who is the one with the beer belly? Indeed... as far as I am concerned I am not an expert (far from it), so I invite you ...

Re: Scope on ARM (Apple M1)

Getting my head around UAD ARM (not to be confused with Apple ARM). Might be useful in taking a step back from comparisons to Scope modes. https://help.uaudio.com/hc/en-us/articles/360041440692-Accelerated-Realtime-Monitoring ARM UAD mode is a Luna-only feature. Basically it embeds the Console 2 fu...

Re: Scope on ARM (Apple M1)

https://help.uaudio.com/hc/en-us/articles/206351056-Why-is-there-latency-when-I-try-to-record-through-UAD-plug-ins-in-my-DAW- This article basically confirms that the UAD-2 cards work as if they were the "XTC mode" while the Apollo DSP's can be used ALSO similar to the "classic mode&...

Re: Scope on ARM (Apple M1)

I don´t find the post a.t.m,- but some time ago, someone talked to S|C support and reported here in the forum, S|C is working on something which might need about 1 year until release and working on Mac. He also reported it won´t be SCOPE and SCOPE, as we know it, will never be available for Mac. Wh...

Re: Scope on ARM (Apple M1)

and trully guys fix a setup some time and stop talking about that. it sounds rediculous. i begin to think that in the conservetoire there is going to be a lesson: motherboards and stuff... jeez Not in the conservatory, but right here there is a subforum dedicated to settings for Scope and Xite (mot...

Re: Scope on ARM (Apple M1)

To me, Scope is like my other hardware, it sits alongside both my Macs and my "PeeCees" and does what it does just fine. Oh, it runs with a dedicated computer that can ALSO host software as well (for which I use bidule). In other words, the way I would run Scope alongside an M1 would be t...

Re: Scope on ARM (Apple M1)

You want future-proof? Learn production and music making or whatever you think is your thing. Xite is what it is. A box that has 17 dsps in there. I am not a Scope fan, I am just scope user. Xite is not just 17 DSP's. Xite is an audio MIDI interface, with audio or MIDI I / O. With low latency ASIO ...

Re: Scope on ARM (Apple M1)

hilarious. let me clarify. for me, the computer is the accessory. it's awfully convenient, though. it's not the most important tool for music production, but it is a useful one. i don't care about computers, per se. for editing and sample playback, they're a real money and time saver, but that's it...

Re: Scope on ARM (Apple M1)

again who are you arguing with... ? I don't argue with anyone Gary. I have only refuted your answer, and that is called debate and dialogue. I like to listen or read other points of view and expose my own. On many occasions I am initially wrong and after a talk I have seen my wrong point of view. I...

Re: Scope on ARM (Apple M1)

The nature of small businesses is to find their niche and focus on that, not constantly expand and 'optimize for growth'. SonicCore cannot afford that luxury. SonicCore is a small company, but its current niche is reduced to users who have stayed on the platform since Creamware to a greater extent....

Re: Scope on ARM (Apple M1)

what is lame is that the music production industry has become about computers ONLY, buying them, updating them, new pictures of old things, and the loss of real products and skills for automated machines that make cookie-cutter products that are mostly indistinguishable from everything else. the le...

Re: Scope on ARM (Apple M1)

What’s hard to understand is this : Given Scope for Mac OSX was non viable (from an S|C standpoint) what is it about Mac ARM that makes it (more) viable ? Viable is everything that makes you grow. As a company, if you don't invest in growing, you just have to wait to die. Apple switched to OsX at t...

Re: Scope on ARM (Apple M1)

Is the current Apple ARM the same architecture / codeset that Scope for Mac used to run on all those years ago ? But let's see ... where am I saying that? Please try to understand what I have written and do not assume what I have not said. What I am saying is that it is a good time for SonicCore to...

Re: Scope on ARM (Apple M1)

May be many didn´t recognize ... But,- the Apple M1 thing is a return from CISC to RISC processor. Looking back,- the Motorola procs Apple used for their PPC computers were RISC. That were the days I liked Apple and Mac OS 9.x. Well, Apple obviousely had not much options than Intel when leaving Mot...

Re: Scope on ARM (Apple M1)

How would Scope on Arm require any less R&D investment / effort than Scope on OsX ? Who has said such a thing? Creamware (and SonicCore) did not develop for OsX and ... from those waters, these sludge (you want to see it or not). The idea of resuming the platform for Apple's ARMs is none other ...

Scope on ARM (Apple M1)

A decade later, after Scope abandoned the development of the platform in OsX, it seems to me a great opportunity to enter the market through the big door if development was thought to run on Apple ARM. I don't know what you think about it. I know SonicCore is a small company, but there may be a turn...

Re: Is anyone who tried to connect loptop with xite-1 by thunderbolt connection external express Card reader?

if it's called "thunderebolt/usb3", you have all the needed information. Isn't "thunderebolt / usb3". It's "thunderebolt 3 / usb-C". It looks alike, but it is not the same. Regards. USB-C just describes the connector type, 1.x/2.x/3.x is the protocol which gives ...
