Re: dNa devices opened on load

Thank you very much !
I never recognised that screenset function, although I watched the screen of scope for decades.
Now my screen comes up clean, as I prefere it most of the time.
But maybe the screenset will become usefull to me. I'll start playing around on my next scope session.

Re: dNa devices opened on load

Just tried it again.
All dna-devices open their windows, no matter if they were closed on save or not.
All other devices seem to remember their closed state.
Is there a special button on dna which makes this behaviour ?

Re: I give up

I still have a pc with 3 pci scopes, but most of the time I play with my Xite. As you wrote, sonic core is great in supporting equipment sold in the past which made me stay with this product. Some others require permanent online verification, others write bad drivers and drop support early or are pe...

Re: Loptop for sonic xore xite-1

I own an HP Elitebook 8770w, which I'll try with Xite if I find the time.
This machine is 17' fullhd, can be upgraded to 32G and two sdd/hdd.
They're pretty cheap as 2nd hand and offer expressslot.

Re: voltage problem with 3 cards ?

I own this magma box shown in the picture.. I also own a magma 13pci-slot board. Both seem to work with scope cards. ( tested with scope 4.5 and pulsar1 and 2 cards. ) I can use a pcie, pci oder expresscard on the pc-side to connect to magma. But as gary said, the pci-bandwidth is lower compared to ...

Re: voltage problem with 3 cards ?

Does it work with just 1 card in the expansion ? With 2 boards ?

Try to replug the STDM-cable or use different connectors on the cable.

You could also use an empty project. This doesn't drain so much power like a fully loaded project.

Re: Wanted: Scope Pro or Pulsar2 PCI

Caps typically loose their capacity over time due to drying electrolyte, especially when their environment is quite hot. You cannot measure a cap with a multimeter directly. The best way is to remove one leg of the cap and measure the capacity with a multimeter that can measure capacity. ( this is n...

Re: stupid question ...

I never did this when changing slots.
All you have to do is to care for the right scope-driver.
( I have 5.1 and 7, so I need to check it chooses the right one.)

Re: Scope Virus Infection

Some scanners use a generic approach to detect variants of existing viruses. Unfortunately, these often report false positives. ClamAV is one of the worst of them. You can upload to https://virusscan.jotti.org to get a picture of several virus scanners about the same file. Nevertheless there are som...

Re: New System for old pci boards

PCI cards still work well in modern boards. I own a PRIME X370-A with Ryzen 2700x and did some tests with pulsar2 and Win10. Win10 is the bigger issue to me. It's a hard job to disable all those background stuff and after patchday some stuff behaves different. 3 PCIcards seems to be the limit of sco...

Re: PAE patch XP Professional

I use Win7/32 with PAE, but STS don't work in V7. ( KGParam3.VXD missing)
With 5.1 the did work on the same machine (as far as I remember).

Should they work with V7 under XP ?

Re: Original Creamw@re A16U PSU

You could use any PSU, that delivers the same voltage and the same or more current. Typically PSU for audio equipment need to care about the ripple on the output voltage. I don't know how good the filtering inside an A16U is. If there is to much ripple, you could hear a "bzzzzz" . I doubt, a laptop ...

Re: Scope/XITE > Exception

If I get this right, this machine never worked with scope before, as you used 5.1 on a different machine ? Are you sure, there is no hardware issue ? Did you try different pcie-slots ? Did you copy some 5.1 files to the location of 7 ? ( you can install them in parallel, but you have to exchange the...

dNa devices opened on load

I use tapeecho and stereocomp in a project.

When loading the project, the two devices are always opened.
I can close them and save the project, but they popup on load again.

What is the reason for this behaviour ?

Re: My A16 Ultra's going to trash..

I have lots of old synths and an A16U. The idea of using a single powersupply sounds good from the mechanical perspective . From the electrical perspective the power supplies should be completely seperated, to avoid ground loops. The ideal solution would be a bunch of independent power supplies whit...

Thank you mausmuso for your quick reply. I also own the SDK, but I'm no wizard and have no idea what might cause this load. As I use two ipatches in one project, this question came up. ( As I started out with a single pulsar1, watching DSP-load did never stop, even on Xite. It seems to be part of my...

Re: Patchbays

IPatch is exacly what I need, but why is it so DSP-hungry ?

Using the "VU-less" version, it costs 3 DSP-"bars".

If I would use 3 empty modular2 instead, this costs just 1 DSP-"bar".

Can it be optimised ?
