Re: Phantasmagoria..

huh, I just liked the feel of the bass. Not too tight, not too loose, not over played but gently bringing out the groove.

Re: Scope Instruments demos

Really great width of sounds on the Poison demo! I really liked the simplicity of that synth, and just how FM the whole thing sounds. And well, yeah, it's FM sounding very FM. Something to be lauded about that. FM trying not to sound FM is a wasted opportunity. 6 strings: I think is fine as a demo o...

Re: eat STRAWBERRIES

thnx for enjoying. Scratchy sound was made using a random voice sample that came with Alchemy's base sound set. (Alchemy accepts samples, it's very much optimized to do so) It uses a LFO to mod the pitch so the wave plays forward / back to simulate scratching. It does this at various clock rates to ...

Ghostbusters new album sounds great

Is it just me or did the new Ghostbusters album sound great?? That was the first thing that jumped out at me. I didn't check the credits or anything, but I really liked the way it sounded overall.

Re: Spectrasonics Keyscape

haha, these are great demos. I don't know that it demonstrates the package to any special degree, but just nice music to listen to in general. The package sounds kind of unremarkable in the mix, in a good/natural way.

Bass workshop lesson 2

I clearly have no idea where this is going, but I added some more advanced concepts to the bass workshop.

Let me know if this directionality helps or doesn't. I mean, on my end, it's just sort of becoming a fun project...

Re: bass workshop

I'm curious as to what the REAL bassists on Z will want to add to this.. as Lesson 2, or even more. I'm merely a student compared to the real warriors here. The stuff I went over in this one is barely just the beginning, there's so much more. It's part of the draw of bass for me, in that it's actual...

Re: Pianoteq 10th Anniversary Sale

I'll put my full support behind this. Been a pianoteq user since early days, and have been a tester in various releases. I've been (is still) a fan of physical piano modeling. Pianoteq is still the best sounding, after having gone through a bunch of improvements. It's literally a "buy and forg...

bass workshop

I created a short bass groove workshop in the hopes of bringing awareness to the global shortage of great bass lines, and as an opportunity to review modern practices in bass line production. The presentation mainly focuses on controlling groove and where to place the downbeat, and various examples ...

Whole project remotely coordinated with Tokyo. Wrote the tune, sent with a guide melody, Tokyo recorded test vocals, I took the test vocals and added chorus lines with autotune, sent back along with notation, recorded chorus lines in Tokyo (they sent all lines melodyne corrected), and mixed back her...
