bill3107: I've already tried it with my old setup, and it works there, as I mentioned in above.

Yes, and in addition it doesn't crash when the pulsar is not used.

Yes, I know that the DP965LT should work. I'd just like to find a way to tell it to my computer :P

There was an IRQ sharing problem at first, but that's settled now, the pulsar is not sharing it's IRQ with anything, but it still crashes, though slightly less often, perhaps (IRQ sharing with the ...

Problems with the DP965LT, which board to try next?

Sorry for starting another 'which motherboard' thread, but I'm hoping you helpful people can give me advice in a difficult situation: in November I upgraded from my previous Athlon XP 2100+ system to a quad core intel system, and for motherboard I got the Intel DP965LT, since that was recommended ...

Yes, I bought the DP965LT because it was recommended here. I know that it probably isn't the problem in itself, but switching motherboards simply has a very high probability of fixing whatever the problem is as a side-effect, since so many things change with the motherboard (a hardware version of ...

Now I've tried disabling everything. I've also re-installed XP on an another partition in a multiboot configuration, trying to keep everything maximally clean on that install, only music stuff. No help, still crashes.

I'm basically out of ideas, and I guess I'm just going to try and buy another ...

A little update: since I was worried that my Pulsar may actually be broken, I re-built my system with the previous components, on which everything worked fine (except for the occasional "unexpected DSP overload" -message, but I had that always on that system and it always goes away when I just click ...

Back from the holidays!

The capacitor is now re-soldered to the card, and I installed it again yesterday. On-board audio is disabled, the pulsar has an IRQ all for itself, and yet there was a crash after only about 15min of use... I'm clueless... except that I fear the card may be simply broken ...

Great news, Neil!

I'm getting the feeling that I might be having a double problem, one with IRQ sharing (which should now be fixed), and another with the broken capacitor. Let's hope that once that's fixed my system will be working perfectly, too :)

Another crash! Now my main suspect is the capacitor. Unfortunately I can only have it re-soldered during the holidays, and I won't have a chance to test the Pulsar again until around new year. So until then I will just have to hope that this fixes it...

Ok, disabled the motherboard audio and put a project in cubase playing on a loop. About an hour later -> Freeze. So it didn't help.

Then I moved the Pulsar to another slot on the motherboard, and it now has an IRQ all for itself (thanks for the tip, Stardust, I would probably have gone into the ...

I haven't had time to look into this more now, except that there were no crashes yesterday for several hours with the pulsar removed, so I'm now more convinced that it's Pulsar-related.

Neil B: I checked the wmiprov.log logfile you mentioned, I also have it and there were lines for "Impersonation ...

Hi everyone!

I have probably the exactly same problem, and an interesting coincidence with balaftuna is that I also have an Intel dp965lt. On my previous setup everything was working perfectly. A bit more details, so that we can compare the problems:

Symptoms: The computer freezes (no blue screen ...
