Re: Tasty new Ob-Xa Clone

I've been demoing these 3 this past week: Sonic Projects OP-X Pro II, Arturia's, and Synapse Audio. All three sound nice however a thought occurred to me as I was scrolling through the presets of each. Seems to me other than the straight SAW wave "Jump" sound (which I love on the OBXa) most of the o...

Re: Tasty new Ob-Xa Clone

I think this is his website dawman. Not really sure what happened to him(prob a mob hit from Uli or Korg) but it never materialized from what I could discover.

Dawman; that pic is a great advertisement for the build quality lol. She goes right for the colored knobs haha. You Tube is a free education! Re: Lack Of Focus

I’d get the used Live Ones that are popping up everywhere. The outputs on this thing are hot as hell too. I can’t get Soundcard Outs to sizzle like that and the low end is sick. My buddy has a Live 2 and the speakers are pretty loud. I love the way I can take this upstairs to my bedroom and learn i...

Re: Masterverb Test Thread

Yes, from what I understand this test is only a standard of comparison of different motherboards to measure (sort of) the PCI bandwith to use with the PCI boards only. I think this is useful info concerning systems that reach a "PCI Capacity" error message before reaching a DSP limit. With the Xite ...

Re: DELL T3500 - good and cheap for 2xCards

I've been running my Xite-1 on one of these for a while now, and you are correct. Quite stable and dirt cheap. The only thing with running PCI cards on these is I'm really not sure if there are differences in MB's and it seems hard to check for sure if buying on ebay. Another thing: I had to cut out...

Re: New System for old pci boards

So the issue isn't whether or not the Scope PCI cards run because I believe that most do. The issue is how well do they run. Hence the original post. I think most here can agree that the PCI bus has seen a steady decline in performance with each newer generation which you can't really blame the manu...

Re: New System for old pci boards

I'm on an old socket 775 motherboard w/ 3 PCI slots. Not the fastest but it runs Win10 and gets 13 masterverbs w/o pci overflow. Prob going to be a trade off btwn Scope perf and age of motherboard I would imagine. Sure to be lots of guys chiming in here so you should find something that works for yo...

Re: Scope/XITE > Exception

Are you sure, there is no hardware issue ? Did you try different pcie-slots ? This? Hey Bud; When I transferred to a new machine I originally had problems with the PCI-E slot(it was mostly with the boot up) but one slot didn't work, another kind of worked and then I found one that has worked for 8 ...

External Multi Master Effect Router

Anyone looking for an idea to work on. This is what i would wish for external effects loop to a patch bay and back. -Switchable between mono and stereo or: -6 mono inputs for use with the STM2448 AUX outs or mono external effects. -6 stereo in series or in parallel. -Direct ouputs for each channel -...

Re: Xite-1 BNC Scope 7

Ok right 3 outputs on the Black Lion. That should be enough though if you clock the A16U-PCI cards with one WC to either one. A slave of a slave? Not ideal though. 4 WC outputs would def be better. The Big Ben clocks I was looking at some were fairly cheap, <500USD down to $350 but location and timi...

Re: Xite-1 BNC Scope 7

Thanks for piping in Gary. That is reassuring. Bud; I searched for a long time on Ebay for a master clock. The one I got was super cheap Lucid $50USD but it will not do 96khz. There was one Lucid I saw that was a distributor only so I think it would work well with a clock like the Black Lion that on...

Re: Xite-1 BNC Scope 7

Bud; I don't really have an answer for you. I initially thought I was going to have a BNC to the A16U but I believe that connection is only for using ADAT not Z-link. Don't really know how stable this type of rig is, don't care. Seems stable enough - no clicks or pops. Before BNC I ran a DigimaxFS a...

Re: Xite-1 BNC Scope 7

Well fwiw, I don't know if it is supposed to work this way but it does. The Xite-1 appears to send the clock thru to Z-Link Lucid BNC out to Xite-1 in slave, Z-link to A16U also set to slave. Changing the Lucid master clock from 44.1 to 48khz changes the clock to the Xite-1 and also the A16U. No pro...
