using a pulsar without scope

Hi

I don't know if this is possible but Is there anyway I can use my old pulsar 2 card in a windows 7 pc without buying scope 5/5.1?

I wondered if anyone had found any drivers which would would allow the card to function as a conventional soundcard (asio/midi/wave drivers) but obviously not ...

scope 4 won't install

Hi there

sorry to post something so boring but I've had a look through various posts and I can't find any answers. I'm installing scope 4 on an old pulsar 2 card. I'm not eligible for scope 4.5 unless I pay for an upgrade.

I tried a different power supply and the noise wasn't present...

it's only a 300w 20pin supply so a little under powered for a p4d system.

anyway,
cheers every one for your help

just been investigating further

The noise is present even if I quit/close sfp.

the noise is present even if I disconnect the monitor (screen).

The power cable for the pc is not near the pulsar cables.

The interference is local to the pulsar channels on the mixer. It is present on both monitors ...

Jeantech 600w arctic with ultra low noise 120mm fan.

Obviously plenty of power but I just wondered if I should chop off the extra 4pins and make it power the board as a 20 pin supply.

dunno just clutching at straws really.

thanks for the help

The pulsar cables are fine...I've had the board for years. It might be an idea to get anothyer pci soundcard to try to see if it's related to the pulsar or the board as a whole.

I don't think the mother board screws are causing any problems. The cpu heat sink did have to have a ...

Hi there

After looking round the panet Z forums I bought the asus p5p800se as it seemed to be a safe choice. However I'm having a problem with noise generated by hard drive activity, mouse movements/graphics and also some underlying cpu fan noise on the audio outputs of my pulsar 2.

System is as ...

I've had a bit of a disaster in that my asus motherboard am7266 has died.

I was just looking at a replacement.

you suggest the asus p5p800 using pata drives but it only seems to have sata connections on the board. Is it possible to somehow plug pata's drives into sata connectors.

cheers
