Well I've opened her up. Can't see anything obvious, but I'm only looking on the top board. It's a bit of a faff to look underneath tbh. Also getting the lid back on is proving more difficult than I thought it would.

Just started about a week and a half ago. New computer in March. All been fine up till now.

I assume that there is no warranty so there'll be no issue if I open it up?

Haven't opened her up yet. Will do that in the new year.

Just tried the phones output to the same speakers. Headphone output gives no crackling, XLR output still crackling.

Well I'm slightly worried about my XITE-1.

Over Christmas (of course) I started getting a nasty cracking sound on my output. It seems to mostly kick in on bass-low mid frequencies.

Are my DACs dying I wonder?

I checked all wiring, amps, speakers etc. Finally just had XITE XLR ...

I don't have them in the sidebar either - new installation of SCOPE 7 (latest version) on XITE-1 on a new computer this year. Have to say I never even noticed as I never select presets from there.

I love dub delays and I love Space F delays. I missed this announcement. Coming soon?

Ended up getting a spare XITE PSU and PCI card - figure those will be the bits that may die, so a long-term investment to keep XITE going into my retirement.

Well it's up and running.

Seems OK at the moment. No crashing like the X99 I tried years ago (bad timing with that mobo). Have done some optimisation, but really need to streamline Windows 11 even further I think.

Scope on XITE-1 takes 7 seconds to load!

NVidia has studio drivers which offer better compatibility with Adobe and etc, as well as better bus timing.


Ah, OK. I just used the drivers that came with my last PC and updated as a went along. This is their 'Game Ready' drivers. Didn't even know they offered different drivers. Studio Ready ...

This has come just at the right time as I'm soon to get a new computer, so with everything else being current (Windows 11, Studio One v6) it's nice to think this will keep things up to date and increase the longevity.
