This does not work- I tried it. The card still needs sample clock information from nuendo that it will not get when the program is not holding it directly. I even tried loading chainer with the card set in XTC mode to hold the asio drivers open- but then the XTC fx go to chainer and not to FXT. That...

Hello, I was wondering if anyone here can help- I have a pulsar II a powercore and a uad 1 and a motu 2408mkiii and 1296. Anyway I can get xtc mode working with out the i/o's by getting the clock defeater key from creamware (free from the distributer). This way I use the motu but have all three dsp ...

i thought I would chime in here;

The origional XTC card has no i/o's so it would work for you. Also a pulsar II can run in this mode but you need to get a little key that defeats the onboard clock from creamware- This is what I have but I do have some issues-

I have a tiger MP and have had very good results. My setup is XP pro, tigermp, 2 1600+ mp's, 2 80gb audio drives , 1 40gb data drive. I can load 12 masterverbs no problem (wich is my DSP max), but only after setting all pci latiency timers to the highest setting (00e8) or somthing. I use Sonar and t...

Do you know someone who has one? the more I look the problem is you also have to use the pcmcia bus for HD's too. I was thinking that the 650 with a 962 southbridge could use a usb 2 HD allowing a seperate southbridge connection but these don't seem to perform that well. hmmm, I guess I'll go back t...

Sub I know what you are going to say, go intel but heres the deal, I'm thinking of going with a northwood laptop with a magma chassis to run pulsar, giga and cubase for vsti's while using the other comp with a hammerfall for sonar plus have the laptop rig for live use. The sis mutiol is theretically...

couple more things I noticed, lunchboxes are expensive, even a barbones with only case keyboard and flat panel will set you back around 3,000 (last I looked). another thought other than a plastic suitcase is a rack case and a rack drawer and build little arms for a flat panel monitor. thats what I'm...

I've done it. I used to have my computer, flat panel and all, tucked into a sampsonite plastic suitcase with wheels. Used it with a little dig board and ran beats and other stuff from acid while playing keys and my friend playing flute. We had a weekly spot at a bar here and I only ever had 1 bad cr...

big bad wolf: If you are using 98 or me then you have to set the the sream>16bit audio to 3 bytes then 24bit will work fine(under the last tab of audio settings). for some reason sonar's wav profiler messes this up and sets it to one of the other settings. Also be carful if you experiment with the o...

I have a tiger MP and have no porblems with pci bandwidth (11 masterverbs@max dsp), however XP or 2000 only offer 8 16bit wave IO and thats not enough for me. The main problem with the tiger is that under XP you get alot of copy protection errors (from pulsar). I did have it installed under acpi mod...

Heh yea I remeber when I was into macs and I always hated that, not to be the Mac vs Pc asshole because their both cool but Microsoft does one thing that I like its their huge emphasis on backward compatibility. Then making the upgrade an extension of a pre-existing line of OS's is brilliant. but af...

Ok, heres a hardware thing that is an extension of the RAM card idea. . . what about a pulsar card or series of cards that both had sdram bannks and could be 64bit pci or 66mhz pci or both. No DSP's just stdm connectors. Since that won't happen some software ideas, I know that many people like the g...

The Tyan board is not the problem (use one proc and 98 and you'll see) the problem is that the drivers are still infant. I think that creamware should call 3.01 a beta for XP/2k at least in SMP situations. They have alot to do, Scope V3 will inevitably be first. Obviosly simple things (compared to p...

Updates: OK so I installed XP (dual boot setup) and have some interesting news. I get copy protection violation errors like ne1 else using a SMP mobo with XP. Also after installing the 3.01 update I start to get the old PCI master overflow error. So out of cuiousity I started to mess with the [DSP] ...

couple of updates, I get stutters at low ulli and sonar latencies, but one big thing for anyone with a agp card with video capture: the agp bus is only independant of PCI for computer to video card, any data coming back is normal PCI. I.E. if you have an ATI all in wonder or similer compare PCI perf...

The card is clocked (slaved to adat) and audio runs through (sounds really muddy but cool as hell) this is while playing back 24tracks 24bit 44.1. my guess is that without the tracks playing and more DSP's I could get even more. Ok here's whats strange but really cool. . .I accedentally adjusted lat...

Just thought I would let you all know, I recently got a tyan tiger mp I'm running 1 1.4ghz athlon mp, win98, 512mb ram, a pulsar II and a luna and I get 11 masterverbs which maxes out my dsp before any pci overflows (with 24track 24bit playing in sonar). If ne1 (sub) knows of a better pci test let m...

I have a spirit 328 and its awesome, works great as a control surface but if you have the chance check out the ramsa they allow auxs' and eq's through the fat channel as a control surface. As for the DM24 looks cool but I had a Tm-d1000 for a bit and the mic pre's are pretty bad, I doubt with the co...
