Re: Xeon = good?

I got my ES5 v3 2690 ES around a year ago from Japan. It can run insane VST plugin counts over USB on a Presonus 1818VSL interface at 64 samples buffer (no dropouts unless the CPU hits 100%). Of course I had to disable almost everything in the BIOS. If you're using Scope PCI, I don't believe socket ...

Re: Haha, got WDL compiling

I spent a few hours setting up visual studio and WDL framework, and was able to get it compiling. I do some c# (within Unity3D), python, ruby, and a basic C, but rather unfortunately C++ is going to new, but hopefully I can pick up the basics from the practice projects. Coders would see that the pr...

Re: Scope Instruments demos

What's wrong with the saxophone? I have a friend that plays a sax. He was told by his music teacher that he was the best he's ever heard in high school. And no music teacher ever says that. That was almost 20 years ago. He also plays drums at a church for fun and he's very good. I played second clar...

Re: Is SONIC CORE company dead ???

I cannot seem to delete my account. Can someone run a query on the MySQL database to remove all my trolling + my account and there will be peace again. I promise. Dont' forget to remove the pinouts I posted for the ADAT plate. Someone else can use a multimeter to trace them :) If there was a delete ...

Oh crap,

You're right.

I got one of these instead that burns in less than a second when you take off the heatsink. That will teach me not to get those chips again :lo:

Re: New PC build. Hopefully for good this time :)

I hate to prove Mr. Right wrong, but this chip is performing very well. Stock settings, no tweaks in the bios, because they seem to cause the computer not to boot. 3 Divas at 6 voices each + 1 at 8 voices in divine mode. Some effects on top. Addictive drums playing a loop and I can still play my DX7...

Re: New PC build. Hopefully for good this time :)

Aye,

Spent at least 30 minutes on the phone with Asus to figure out why my chip takes 5 minutes to start booting. Told me to disable Fast Boot in bios which is on by default. Boots right away every time :)

Seriously? 0$? I've been looking for a 'different' delay. Ideally tape style, but this looks better!

Thanks man!

Re: Is SONIC CORE company dead ???

Aye, Not gonna argue. Scope is still the best thing out there... I did have a lot of fun with Scope. But I spent all the time playing with all the great devices. I think the possibilities were too much to handle. I probably complained about Scope once or twice a week, but nothing show stopping. I'm ...

Re: Is SONIC CORE company dead ???

Do you need to make a joke out of everything?

The company is not dead, the product is great, just not for me. If Scope works for you, make some music instead of posting pictures that don't make any sense to me.

Re: New PC build. Hopefully for good this time :)

No, I am not talking about this computer. I could give you a lot of examples that have nothing to do with computers. I am not blaming my luck, I am just telling you that I have bad luck. I don't think I need to prove anything. Let's regroup and get back on track. Yes, Sonar loads the 1st core the mo...

Re: Is SONIC CORE company dead ???

I am not sure what you're saying Frax?

I waited for Scope to be 'fixed'. It just didn't happen and won't happen any time soon.

These are just annoyances that should be easy to fix. It's not like it's crashing all the time...

Re: New PC build. Hopefully for good this time :)

No, I have the worst luck in the world. I fixed the switch. As I was taking apart the case the front part of the top panel came off. Tested the switch without it, was fine. Put that part back on and it's fine. So something about how they assembled it made it pushed in all the time. It didn't even cl...

Re: New PC build. Hopefully for good this time :)

I think Intel sends these chips for people to test. The specs may a bit different than the actual release chip but it will be the same speed and same amount of cache and all. I got it to boot, just not happy that the power switch on a brand new 200$ case doesn't work. Ahm, the most essential compone...

Re: New PC build. Hopefully for good this time :)

Boys, My new chip is here. All the way from Japan in 2 business days. How is that even possible? My Yamaha ROMs that were shipped 3 weeks ago and are coming from the States are still not here. And there's is no tracking number or anything. I'm just gonna send them back right after they get here. Jap...

Eh Nestor, analog even looks nicer :) None of that cold LED/LCD stuff. These tubes glow nice orange at 300 volts.

Re: Reviving a 16 year old project - Nixie Clock

Oh yeah,

This is the soldering job using a 10$ beat up iron. Just proves that you can do anything with a tool. I have a proper rework station sitting in the basement, but haven't plugged it in yet...

Reviving a 16 year old project - Nixie Clock

I started this some 16 years ago, it was basically finished just missing the proper casing. There were a lot of loose wires and I could not find the original schematics and it looks like I did some custom additions. (Custom power supply and added seconds as well). Anyways, it's digital. But the tube...

Maybe that's the problem. I literally cleaned EVERYTHING! I will just not clean my registry. This way I won't break the computers.
