Re: KNOTTSBOX V (Final version 1) with lots easytohandlepresets

ok, I just got to try this thing out, I was on holidays when it was posted. I'm mixing a reggae and I put this thing on the bass and it is sweet, thanks so much for this, it's giving me good ability to eq, boosting the lows but keeping it really clean still, then a little valve and character and it'...

Re: working with both sfp and vst.

may be easiest to do a submix as mentioned above or maybe it could be done with xtc mode somehow.
You could also try spacef's limfat and do it in scope, I find that device is great for a buss limiter.
I'm assuming L2 is a limiter right?

Re: XTC Mode - general question

I used xtc mode a bit when I first got the card because I really didn't understand the scope system, once I caught on to it I cut out xtc mode, one thing though, when you export your song make sure you select realtime export in your daw otherwise your scope plugs won't be in your mix afterwards. I t...

Re: Any good STM2448 external midi controller?

well, the automation stuff is also a problem for me. as i do all the mixing in scope mixers, automation (i.e. channel volume) should be done at the same place in processing, means in scope mixer. if you automate the stuff in your sequencer, you'll loose the ability to use a gate, compressor in scop...

Nice, if you do it he'd get just what he wanted, I was just offering a little something to try and help. I think having it follow the keyboard would be the way to go.

Re: Question about the tone control on Adern's kickme too

part of what makes the kick sound is a pitch envelope, it's not just putting out a straight note value, there is a frequency but the pitch envelope puts it up higher and quickly brings it down and normally, unless you have a long decay, the sound ends before the base frequency is reached. What you w...

Re: OPTIMASTER Vs TC Finalizer PLUS

yes, it's the mastering compressor, you'll just have to find which one you prefer, the hard or soft. I prefer the hard, I find the soft changes the sound a bit too much.

Re: STW Mastering Compressor, Native vs Scope?

I can't say but I use it for scope, works good. I've heard the native is very good too. I think they have demos, best to test it out yourself.

Re: Another thread about summing in scope

to really test this you need to not run your live mix through scope at all, you'd have to manually shift the files though to get them to line up. Just shift 1 sample at a time with one inverted to check for cancellation. Whether there's a difference or not doesn't matter much to me, I like the sound...

Re: OPTIMASTER Vs TC Finalizer PLUS

of course, but like I said, you can't tell some people otherwise, they just complain that it's not as loud as some other song and that's all they know. Back on topic though, I find that the limiter in optimaster doesn't keep the punch so good (to get rid of transients you need the shortest attack ti...

Re: OPTIMASTER Vs TC Finalizer PLUS

limfat is great too, it all depends on how much you want to limit though, you can push sonic timeworks more, but limfat works really good. Some clients want their stuff louder and you can't convince them otherwise so sonic timeworks works good for that.

Re: OPTIMASTER Vs TC Finalizer PLUS

you can use optimaster for the compressor, but try sonic timeworks mastering limiter at the end of your chain, this keeps the punch. You can stay in the scope environment then too.

Re: Scope and cubase 4.5.2

I think the new scope asio dll was to allow for 96khz which was a problem before, I don't think it made any difference for me regarding losing contact with the asio drivers while changing projects. I have no problem with 16 tracks in and as many as I need out of cubase, normally around 20-26 or so. ...

Kensuguro, isn't that normally controlled by how far you push the wheel? :D I'm sure you mean you'd like to have the ability to go beyond that though, I'm not sure if I could fit another knob on there. I have to remember that people often use these things differently from me so some different featur...

Re: String Maching

thanks for the presets
I have scope set to use all knobs vertically so it's normal for me, however in sdk you can make the knobs work round or vertical, I just put them to vertical, sorry if it's a problem.

Re: polyphony causing crash

right, that's a good tip for the future. It's really not needed for the chorus to load in more than once. Thanks for the info, I hadn't thought of that, it's strange with sdk, little things that I know but I don't apply to situations, or it doesn't occur to me to do that, I was thinking of that modu...
