Re: Creamware A16 Ultra / Pulsar 2 - something is unhappy
I'm afraid not, I just gave up on the Creamware card (CPUs are now way more powerful on the 3 Sharc DSPs on the card) and now use a RME Fireface 800 for the audio interface, which has been rock solid and is amazing.

Yes, yes, well aware of how to set up a master and slave ;-)
jhulk: yep, it's on 24/7/365 and have been for the best part of 3 years...
The PSU is the one supplied with the unit; pretty chunky. But, I suspect it is the issue. I'm in Reading or London, where are you?

Creamware A16 Ultra / Pulsar 2 - something is unhappy
Hi All,
I've been a Scope user since about 1999, with a Pulsar 2 wired up to an A16 Ultra.
Of late, I've been having noise problems, clicks, pops, constant hum on the inputs from the A16 Ultra.
I thought I had cabling problem somewhere, but the noise is across several A16 inputs.

Re: Scope 5.1 doesn't start on machine boot on Win7/64-bit
I know it's not working 'cos I can't play any sound until I start Scope.
A re-install? Really?! That seems pretty extreme...
Any other suggestions?

Scope 5.1 doesn't start on machine boot on Win7/64-bit
Hi All,
My old system, was Scope 5, WinXP, 32-bit and Scope used to start when the machine was booted and hide itself nicely in the background.
Scope 5.1, Win7, 64-bit doesn't and I can't find the knobs to twiddle to make it do that.
What am I missing?
cheers,
Chris

Re: Pretty disappointed with V5 so far :-(
@Janni: that would be great, thanks!
@the19thbear: er? I already installed V5 in a different location, and my V4 installation is in C:\Scope, so not the default.
I need to take my V4 projects across to V5, what am I supposed to do?!

Re: Pretty disappointed with V5 so far :-(
And, having downloaded about 700Mb of V4.x stuff this morning, I now have two large zip files, one for 4.0 and one for 4.5, neither of which open with WinZip.
Are these weird zip files? Are they corrupt on the SonicCore server?
*sigh*

Re: Pretty disappointed with V5 so far :-(
*sigh* It's insanely frustrating waiting for a huge zip to download for drivers that are *already* on my system...
Anyone know where the existing drivers will be or what they'll be called?

Re: Pretty disappointed with V5 so far :-(
@iSiStOy: I develop web apps and server software, so no, I'm not used to windows crap, I use real operating systems.
The Pulsar2 I have is the only reason I still run Windows, otherwise it'd most likely be Mac, or maybe Linux if I could find a good audio-centric setup *and* get Cubase and Ableton ...

Re: Pretty disappointed with V5 so far :-(
And I don't think what you pasted from the website *is* pretty clear.
I still read that as "You should be using V5, that's the best there is".
From what you've said, it should really say "If you want a stable system, use V4.5. If you want a half-finished product with lots of rough edges, then go ...

Re: Pretty disappointed with V5 so far :-(
How do I do that?
I tried downloading ftp://sonic-core.net/software/SCOPE_Family/Scope4.0_for_PC/Scope40PC.zip
but WinZip told me it was corrupt, even thought the download was the right size.
Is there anywhere I can just get the 4.0 drivers? I still have the Scope install...
Are the drivers still ...

Re: Pretty disappointed with V5 so far :-(
And I should point out that I now have a totally hosed audio setup on this computer...
V4 won't start, complaining of the wrong hardware version.
V5 doesn't see any audio coming from the Wav software sources, even though the software driving those will play happilly...

Re: Pretty disappointed with V5 so far :-(
If people are happy to take my money and advertise something, then that counts as an official release in my book...
The Sonic Core site does a very bad job of explaining what a user should be using.
The implication is that you should be using V5, which is what I'm trying to do...
Are you now ...

Pretty disappointed with V5 so far :-(
Hi All,
Finally bit the bullet and paid for the upgrade to V5, currently wishing I hadn't:
- No warning that you need to completely uninstall V4 first, so I now have a no working audio and have to try and find some way of re-installing V4 so I can uninstall it?!
- Shocking manuals. I mean really ...

Re: Sound Glitches with Ableton
The problem happens with no midi.
How would I check the hyperthreading setup of my PC?
FWIW, I seem to have improved things a lot by setting the priority of Ableton to "real time" in the task manager...

Re: Sound Glitches with Ableton
Hi All,
I tried the "Adjust for best performance of Background Services" setting, no improvement.
The Priority of Live in the task manager is already "Normal", not high.
How can I check what my ACPI settings are? My machine is a dual P4 running at 3.4Ghz, with 3GB of RAM. Windows XP 2, SP 2 ...

Re: ULLI for dummies
Hmm, okay, but how should I find out what the "right" settings are to use?
Does all this change in Scope 5?
(which I've just paid for, but can't yet use because I can't get hold of it - nice goign Sonic Core! I can see you going the way of Creamware with service like that...)

Re: Sound Glitches with Ableton
Oh well, it was nice while it lasted...
The glitches are back.
Noticed them today when I'm using my XV5080 as an external instrument in Ableton with the midi going out through a MOTO Midi Express XT and the audio coming in through the Pulsar.
That said, doesn't mean the glitches aren't happening ...
