Re: serious problem pci card

your guess is only partially correct, as SonicCore cannot fix your card. it appears to be broken.

it doesn't hurt to try cleaning the contacts.

15 minutes might tell you a lot. if you need an RMA, then you will know.

Re: Suddenly getting PCI Master Overflow

yes, parts can die, it's just not an XITE kind of issue. you can always get an RMA, but i don't think that's a solution. checking with the other rig might tell. cpu fan might be an issue, too. there is definitely something wrong because so few masterverbs work. it sounds like something died in the c...

Re: Suddenly getting PCI Master Overflow

PCI overload is usually a motherboard issue, but who knows? it could be a failed graphics card or a bad power supply or?
is the bios still intact?
how many masterverbs? they should only be limited by the dsp resources.

do you have another computer for testing?

Re: Using ASIO Link Pro to avoid SCOPE BSOD in Win 10

 well, truthfully, i still know the same. the problem i mentioned did exist in a couple of apps whose owners even wrote patches for it(steinberg and propeller heads). i never thought that they were trying to open a control box, because that was never an issue. where i am an ignorant fool is ass...

well, that's great and you are really sharp. now tell Holger, because only users are here. if you really are trying to be helpful, then help us all by communicating with the person who can help everyone else. if my understanding is incorrect or incomplete, then thank you for the correction, but i'm ...

My experience is, finding the right mainboard is much more difficult than finding "the right drive".
kinda true, but it depends on how you use it. i'd say that physical layout is more likely to be a problem than operation would be, especially with 14/15 dsp cards.

Re: strctr_k's troubleshooting thread

ok, i get the frustration, but there are so many misunderstandings that i can't unravel them all. maybe this will clear a few, but maybe not. there's nothing wrong with usb, in general. it only matters when the usb controller is sharing an irq with the card. i usually have a usb wireless connected i...

Re: strctr_k's troubleshooting thread

there are not "bits and bobs" from the mixer that would make trouble. mixers don't really use the PCI bus, but reverbs do, hence an empty project. "dood"? there aren't really any magic bullets app for this, as most systems don't use resources in the way that Scope does. you...

Re: strctr_k's troubleshooting thread

where do i get my info? from almost 10 years of SonicCore support and about 7 years of forum life before that. i get my info from clients. there are no absolute lists of working/not working gear. this is because there are too many variables involved to tell you anything absolutely. in addition, neit...

Re: Masterverb Test Thread

well, aside from the hijacked thread, i am calm. if you have usb controllers sharing irqs with Scope cards, you will have trouble. you must disable usb that shares with a card, because the Scope card cannot wait for the usb controller to finish talking. usb is extremely "chatty". it is con...

Re: strctr_k's troubleshooting thread

i'd ask for more precise specs for those working stutter-free systems (exact win10 version, nvme drive model if any, etc) and full testing protocol, but i'm getting anxiety bursts just thinking about asking someone to list all their bios settings and full system configuration. not ALL current mothe...

Re: strctr_k's troubleshooting thread

whenever win10 is involved there is always the chance for nonsense, but the h310 system should work. i'd bet it was the nvme. i have seen more and less advanced systems work without stutters of any kind. there are too many variables to say much about what the issue is, compared to another machine en...
