XP has minimum sys. requirements about P2 233 + 128 Ram and you all know how much power it's actually needed for work - ten times more

let's imagine the DAW with vista, which requires 1Gb RAM and P4 2GHz just to boot up...
it will be significantly more than 300 euro for upgrade...

i've no problems with Asus P5WD2 premium + Pulsar2 Plus (Scope Project in new terms) + PCI-E Asus Gf6200

with AGP Asus 6200 on P4T-E there was no problem too

just try ripping a dvd and only then say that overclocking works fine and system is stable :wink:

btw, which CPU are you using?

my P4 Dualcore 3.2 starts up on 4 GHz, but overheats very quickly (cooled by Zalman 7700Cu), when set to 3.7 Ghz it works fine with nuendo etc, but overheats when under ...

i'think that soldering will be more preferable, it gives much more reliable contact than suggested rubber-based connector

+ with a correct versions of hands32.dll and brains.sys it is not so scary :grin:

in fact all modern intel processors are 64 bit, but in this mode in comparison to AMD ones - they are too slow and buggy, so intel does not advertise about it, only very small label on
the box - "supports 64-bit computing" :grin:
