Re: Very hot ICH9r chipset on DP35DP

Not got to the bottom of this overheating yet.
Still waiting for the Kingston ram. However I did contact Patriot about the existing ram and they said it was definitely compatable with the DP35DP but to do a ram check to make sure the ram was not faulty. They also said they would replace it if there ...

Re: Dual Head Graphics and other issues

A quick update.
After switching off multiprocesser support in Cubase 5 and curing the cpu spike problem I tried re-installing FX Teleport to see if was more stable than previously when it was causing a lot of blue screening when trying to load some of the bigger project I was working on.
Well all ...

Re: Dual Head Graphics and other issues

Thanks again for your advice. I will certainly try that tomorrow.
However here is something of interest. After turning off multiprocesser support in Cubase (thanks so much for the info on where to turn it off). All cpu spikes and crackling disappeared instantly. Now bearing in mind the same ...

Re: Very hot ICH9r chipset on DP35DP

Yes the motherboard came with the standard heat sink on it. Do you know if it should require further cooling when running with 3 scope cards?
the computer spec is:
Intel DP35DP
2GB Patriot memory
Intel Q6600 Core 2 quad processor
Matrox Millennium P650 PCIe 128mb graphics
1 x Pulsar 2
2 x Power ...

Very hot ICH9r chipset on DP35DP

Just noticed my i/o controller hub tempreture is running at 88 degrees C when idle even though the mother board (Intel DP35DP) is only registering a temp of 40 degrees. Anyone any ideas why?
Is it best to use active cooling on it? If so what is a good cooling solution?
Regards
Steve

Dual Head Graphics and other issues

Good day and Happy New Year to all.
I re-built my system in the summer with an intel DG965WH board and I had numurous problems using Cubase 5 with ScopeV.5 and FX Teleport.
Some issues I resolved others I could not so I changed the board to the DP35DP board over Christmas which seems so popular on ...

Re: Need help installing v4.5 after v.5 nightmares

Had a reply from Creamware saying they think my problem with V.5 could be down to using 4gb of memory with XP32 which they say some motherboards can deal with but others cannot. Still struggling with a re install of V4.5 but I am going to make a 2nd primary partition on my drive tomorrow and try ...

Re: Need help installing v4.5 after v.5 nightmares

Thanks for the replies guys,
In answer to your queries first of all, yes the mobo has got built in graphics but I have disabled it and removed the driver.
Secondly I was very careful with the allkeys file making sure I used the last 4.5 set I had. In fact it looks to me like the V.5 keyfile is a ...

Need help installing v4.5 after v.5 nightmares

I have happily run v4.5 software for years on my old 2gig pc and have been loathe to move on as it was so reliable (just rock solid), but needs must so I built a new pc with the following spec:
Intel DG965WH motherboard, 4gig patriot ram, Pentium Q6600 Core 2 Quad processor and a big beefy ...
