Sounds to me like a random lfo modulating an oscillator's frequency. There does seem to be slew going on. If you listen to the last part of the example where the modulation slows down, the tone sounds like a sawtooth wave that's been filtered a bit.

brugesboy, I had this problem also (see post referenced previously). Unfortunately, the problem did not disappear until I bought a motu 828 and routed the Noah to that and then into my recording program. Was not a big deal to me since I needed the 828 for other purposes, but I can see how it'd be a ...

UPDATE:

Turns out it was indeed just a bad power supply. I replaced the old one last night, and I now have my Noah back. :D

Thank you Henrik!

Thank you for the info, hopefully it is just a bad power supply. The fan doesn't come on at all. I do have the power switch in the back on. Once again, thanks! You've given me hope. Now I'll go do some investigating.

My Noah won't power up!

It gave me trouble a couple times, but it powered up after I lightly jiggled the power button. Now it won't power up at all. Anyone else encounter this problem? I saw that a post regarding Noah repairs in the future went unanswered. Does anyone know where I should begin looking into this? I'll be se...

Yes, very good points erminardi! It's true, hardware modulars are not for everybody. I don't mind any of those things though, I looooove my modular. But one should definitely consider everything you brought up!

I used to have a Nord G2 but got rid of it. The sound just didn't move me. I know lots of people love the Nord sound, but I thought it was a bit cold and sterile. To my ears Mod III + Flexor sounds much better. What I did like about the G2 was the software editor. Very clean, very stable. As someone...

I assume more information will be released soon so that we'll have an idea of its features? Does it do the things the software Solaris could do, like analog, FM, rotor, vector mixing, wavetable, etc.? Here are a couple closeup shots found at matrixsynth.com http://bp0.blogger.com/_FMBJEkaC8Lw/RglSe...

I just picked up a Dell dock recently, haven't had a chance to install my Pulsar 2 though. ($12 on ebay!) I'll post a report once I do. I bet you can find an older Dell laptop for a decent price. MIght be cheaper than going the Magma route.

come on, support the developers
I think CW Mod + Flexor is even better than Nord mod. Better sound quality, more filters, more modules, free third party modules. So yes, support the developers! :) :) :)

I'm nowhere near my Noah at the moment, but if I remember correctly you need to go into the MIDI panel of the Noah software and choose USB as a MIDI in. Also check the System menus on the Noah itself if you don't want to do it through the software.

Marc.
You think so? $1500 US, but it comes fully loaded with Six String and Prodyssey. I believe I paid $1300 for my EX without those two plugins.

Tobias,

Send me an email to joxer96 @ hotmail.com
and I'll email you the project configuration I use for FLS6. You can use asio all the way, Scope and FLS work very well together.

And yes, Fruity has come a long way. I use Logic Pro 7 on my mac, but on the Windows machine, it's FLS all the way.
