workshopping old but most important topics...

Hi folks

one thing I´ve never come across in here is a kind of discussion of how to handle the most important tools in mixes - reverbs, compressors, EQs

So I ask myself if someone might want to share his insights on such a topic by gving a little workshop. Either in form of a tut with sample files ...

Hi folks

I try to get MovEq to work and I find that while soloing the eq bands the plug sounds as expected. But when I monitor the mix output of MovEq the effects almost disappears. it´s like the eq bands are send effects that are turned veeeery quiet...

various recording difficulties

Right now I do tests with signal flow and recording routings. I find that levels seem to be very different depending on where I mesure (without doing anything on the faders etc). In Pulsar I get -2dB (Levelmeters PostGain) while Cubase shows way less (around 6dB). How to level things then?
Also I am ...

Latency issues

Hi all

I had sooooome out time now from my beloved pulsar sys. So right now I blow off the dust and set things up for recording sessions. Now, I am quite sure that using Pulsar 1 with 2 Pulsar2 Cards give me the low latency possibilities. But I cant go any lower than 13ms. I made quite sure that I ...

Installing DAS Plugs?

I think this is a very basic question but anyway: I thought I had to copy the *.dll file(s) of a plug into the App/Bin Folder in order to make the device work. Now I find that when dropping the sl bi-mode.dev in a project it works (or seems to) without having copied a dll anywhere.
Something´s wrong ...

I broke up my Keyboards subscription for quite a while now (around 2 years ago). But I still got the samples from back then. I used to load the SoundFont Files from the KEYBOARDS CD (DVD) but they where merely just the pure samples with keygroups. No filters no modulation (at least anything hearable ...

I have only used the STS samplers for loading library sounds and tweaked them a bit(from CW-CdRom, BestService CDs and Internet Files) But it seems like no program uses more than 5% of the possibilities of the samplers. Even filters are programmed in a very spartanic way.

So are there any "full ...

in the past the midisport 4x4 used to work quite well (on MSI K7N420 Mobo). There´s definetivly something wrong with the whole usb thing on this new board. Hoped some user of the K8NSC-939 would have already found a solution

By the way, how do you get midi in your computer if not via midi ...

By the way have U experienced trouble with usb and midi? Since I installed the new mobo i get strange midi behaviour. A directly usb plugged masterkeyboard seems ...

I have found a passive heatsink thats only 2,5cm high so it might possibly fit. Question is if it will discipate enough heat. And what happens if not? Just instability or burning up?
The sink had been on an small asus grafics card (V9520). And since graphic chips get way hot I think it´ll work. What ...

even the older cards mostly have bundled a full toolset in terms of synths. Some might be missing but still U get a whole lot and with the Modular2 U can do new synths till the end of days (also with waldorf wavetables).
It has to be said that there´ll always be a need for more dsp power. But with ...

Hi all

after following some topics about nforce3 Mobos I got me the gigabyte K8NSC (939 socket, newest bios). The noise of the northbridge cooler makes me mad! Anything else´s just fine but this thing drives me crazy. With the bundled Easytune5 Software it should be possible to control the fan ...
