Re: AMD CPUs Benched
I just had a quick search, and as an example you can see the bios updates of this card: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/B350-PC-MATE Note that my current AMD setup is the first i've purchased this millenium(!), so i can't comment on perfomance of specific boards/chipsets, the example was jus...

Re: AMD CPUs Benched
So, a naiive question, are there any motherboards for this cpu that have two or more PCI slots? I haven't researched tha much yet, but the good thing with AMD is that they do not demand a new chipset for each CPU "generation". So if anyone has found a motherboard for the AMD 2000- series ...

Re: AMD CPUs Benched
I am currently on the 3700x, and it is lovely. I was a bit sceptic about the noise level of the chipset fan of the new x570 motherboards, but up to now this is not noticable. There is one x570 motherboard without chipset fan, and one video stated that a smallish heat sink would suffice if you dont m...

Re: HP xw4600 very hot
The cards themselves handles heat quite well. There are a couple of things to consider: 1. Since the PC is "old" and has been shipped to you, the minimum thing to check is that the CPU cooler is properly seated. I would really recommend to apply new thermal paste between the cooler and the...

Re: HP xw4600 VS HP xw4600
Just be aware this gfx card has 256mb of ram... i cant say how it will react with win 7 and modern apps like Live 10 or newer cubase, and you would probably want more system ram for that use as well. Especially if going 64bit.

Re: HP xw4600 VS HP xw4600
I prefer option one as well, mainly because of the processor. It might have a more powerful graphics card as well?

Re: Best mobo and cpu combo
First of all, if you have had it up and running on this motherboard, you should be able to get it up and running again. I would only install the 15dsp card, and rather expand when you get that up and running... if you do. Second, The H310 Chipset is generally a VERY weak/cheap chipset that should be...

Re: Back on Scope
I am planning on moving my cards to a seperate machine as well, probably this summer when AMD Zen 2 is out. When i do, i for sure will move to 32 bit, probably win 7 or XP. I see no reason to run 64 bit ont the standalone in this set up, and i will probably whine a lot less (I know someone will appr...

Re: Back on Scope
I ran into keyfile.v5 (with SDK keys!) in some Scope5 installdir zip file. Both SonicCore Scope and SDK v5 are running now :) Could someone give me a rundown again? From what I understand, Scope 7 adds 64bit support. I see there's a Scope 7 32bit, does Scope 7 run on XP32? Cos I think I'll keep my ...

Re: V7 black project screen unless restart
i have no idea what version of windows you are using, but the best fix is to not have it auto start at boot up. Just launch it manually once windows (and whatever else loads at startup) is loaded.

You are probably aware, but stay off win 10 and you will most likely have less problems finding alternatives.

/join #pulsarmusic Oh, the nostalgia :D I was in there myself (with my old nick "piddi", my current NTN was actually made when Dawman said he would give his Scope cards away for next to nothing when he got his Xite , but the jedi mind trick never worked). Had lots of fun in there, but for...

Re: what is the simples way to play VSTs into scope ?
another alternative is (the free) VCV Rack with the (commercial) Host modules ($20). Unfortunatly i cannot get it working with Scope ASIO drivers on Win 10 64 bit and scope 5.1, and i guess it doesnt work with Scope 7 ASIO either. In VCV you can add Audio cards IO as you like (multiple cards in a pr...

Re: MPA: A whole new Chapter for SCOPE and you are invited
I'm not THAT enthustiatic, and i would like more info on how i can utilize this. that being said it COULD potentially fill a hole which has been left wide open by SC for a long time; a way to utilize scope/creamware tech on new hardware without forking out 3000e for new hardware. If it works on newe...
