Re: 1 core at 100% on Xite but not on PCI
Xite 1D on Win 10, and the CPU usage of my Scope process is usually 0-1%. However I have noticed that each instance of OscilloScope add a constant increase of the CPU usage by a couple of %. Do you see the CPU usage even with a blank project? Otherwise, try to eliminate devices and see if there is a...

Spindrift, I'll take those off your hands if you like, I don't use mine for audio signals but I'm experiencing a need for more channels of CV control. Will give you a shout if it happens...hopefully Boredbrain sort out better distribution in EU, right now it seems like the best option would be to o...

Re: Music at the Z
Nice. Songs 7 and 8 are my fav. Nodding my head the most to 9 :) Thanks, impressed you actually listen through the tracks :) Number 9 was bit special, since I was experimenting with building my own sequencer in Scope to get just the right slide and accent for acid sequencing, and bassline and many ...

Re: SC at Superbooth 21 in Berlin, 15. - 18.09.2021
I'm thinking about selling my ES3+ES6 and getting the OptX. Really like Expert Sleepers, but there are a few things that are not so great. All channels have varying degree of CD offset, which is annoying to have to filter out for audio, and that can mess with your CV levels. The jacks feel a bit loo...

Re: SC at Superbooth 21 in Berlin, 15. - 18.09.2021
Having it in the rack with 3.5mm jacks makes it a lot more convenient for sure. I wouldn't like to swap my ES-3 and ES-6 with a Pulse 16 because I doubt the difference in quality is worth the inconvenience. ES-8 and ES-9 are USB interfaces as well, so not needed if you gonna use with ADAT anyway. Bo...

Re: Freq to V/Oct
Seem like I confused things with the freq 3 note. I figured I can use it to quantize freq, but note values are a completely different range. But doing quantization correctly I can easily find the values: https://i.ibb.co/xJvbp7k/scopenote.png Also I noticed that Silent Way doesn't really track perfe...

Re: Freq to V/Oct
Seems I was wrong about the last one. First of all, looking at the silent way data, Scope doesn't seem to use the full positive range since note 127 is 0.56887817. I did like this to read out the int and float values for a note, but doesn't make me any wiser: https://i.ibb.co/v3KLHFj/scopenote.png S...

Re: Freq to V/Oct
nice analysis, should mean, left below, and right above? but somewhere in the middle it is correct, but with offset? that would be the starting point! if you evaluate scope > cv and create a table with actual and target scopevalues, then i could try to calibrate the curve with scopelogic. Ps.: toda...

Re: Freq to V/Oct
You never know, it might pop-up one day from me or from another but I must be honest and tell you that I won't be able to think about it for at least the next 2 or 3 months. Also, I do not have all the tools you use (for some reason, bitwig does not want to work on my pc) so this is another element...

Re: SC at Superbooth 21 in Berlin, 15. - 18.09.2021
What were you willing to pay for such (and because of XTDM usage specialized) device ? How many estimated buyers of such device and XITE-1 in addition to their Eurorack rigs ? What do you think ? What´s the breakeven point when designing/ constructing, manufacturing the device and do the marketing ...

Re: SC at Superbooth 21 in Berlin, 15. - 18.09.2021
just get a DC coupled AD/DA... I have that, but I was speculating in relation to the possibility of equipment using XTDM, and the marketing opportunities that could bring. If they would make any kind of audio interface, making it DC coupled and capable of modular levels (and ideally rack mounted wi...

Re: SC at Superbooth 21 in Berlin, 15. - 18.09.2021
The point is, it´s unclear if it´s possible to design such CV/Gate interface on basis of the existing XITE (and/or PCI) hardware at all. XITE´s XTDM port is just only a dead connector for the time being. When John Bowen and S|C announced the Solaris rackmout synth,- which at the end of the day was ...

Re: modular sequencer midi out
I remember I played with some modules for that, someone will probably be able to fill in from which developer it was or I can dig it out.
However it was not really functional, I cannot recall what the issue was, but I couldn't get it to work.
So AFAIK, the answer is no.

Re: SC at Superbooth 21 in Berlin, 15. - 18.09.2021
XTDM converter ideas,- was it ever documented at all which type of signals XITE can provide via XTDM ? AFAIK, when fully functional (firmware included), the XTDM connection should be able to transmit audio and MIDI as also all the communication needed to cascade XITE machines (clocks, Async etc.). ...

Re: Freq to V/Oct
Yes, of course the "voltage" values as Expert Sleepers calls the values in configuration files is used as a multiplier for max int value. Tried to see what is possible using logic modules, since there seems to be some sense in how the positive values are used at least. So first modifying b...

Re: Freq to V/Oct
For the oscillator code I linked to, the function calculates the phase of the oscillator for each sample and is in that way constructing the waveform. If you in theory would have a sample frequency of 4 instead of 44100 you would have value 0 at 0° phase, value 1 at 90° (the peak), value 0 at 180° a...

Re: Freq to V/Oct
Again, my understanding of DSP is not at expert level, but I have dabbled in it and can read code. But I would say that typcially oscillators will do is just accept a frequency value as input. First example of a C++ oscillator that shows up on google: https://github.com/rcliftonharvey/rchoscillators...

Re: Freq to V/Oct
In other modular systems, pitch CV is certainly a thing. 0V = C0, 1V = C1 ... 10v = C10 Inside Bitwig it works just like that, although of course it is dBFS instead of volts. In hardware modular 1V/Oct is not precise, and depends on gain of converters and the range varies between modules. But an inc...

Re: Freq to V/Oct
I really appreciate your input on this, but cannot understand why the issue is not really obvious for anyone using CV to control Scope. The values used by scope isn't at all corresponding to a linear 1V/oct (or 0.8V/oct or whatever value). This is what for example my Eurorack expects and what Bitwig...
