Go with OCZ Gold if you can, and don't be cheap on the CPU. Get the E6600, you will see a big improvement over the E6400 as it's 2MB shared L2 cache makes it the slowest of the E series. I use an E6700, and the E6600 is just as fast, so I probably spent more than I needed to. So I continue to live ...

just go intel.
get the fastest core2 processor you can afford, 6400, 6600, whatever.
intel dg965ry or dp965lt motherboard.
evga geforce pci express graphics card at least 256mb, under $75(any of them)
2x wd hard drive
corsair twinx2056 ddr2 667 or 800

I do not have any Logic keys as I am using Logic Audio Silver. (only a CD check from time to time)

BUt I presume that Logic Audio Gold or Platinium does have an USB dongle, right ?

So in my case it would work as my two USB ports are still active (I am using a midi interface MT4 from Logic)

For the Asio Overload problem, I siolved this problem (after tons of optimisation found on different forums ...) by desactivate the Serial Ports in the BIOS ...

For the Wave Player Init problem at the launch of Logic, go in your soundcard properties and uncheck "Always Open Device". I solved the problem doing this.

In my case, I have optimised everything in my system and I still had this message until I desactiviate in the bios the two serial ports.

Yes Win98SE is working perfectly with one stick of 256 Mb. When I install the second stick I am not able to launch Win98SE.

I installed Win XP and it is working perfectly with the two sticks ... So I think that I do not have any problem of hardware (mobo should be ok )

I checked with Tweakall the ...

I try it but it does not work ...

I tested the two DDR 256 Mo. both are working properly but I am not able to run W98SE with 512 Mo installed.

Does somebody have any idea of what I should do ?

Thank you Sandrod.Your post gave me the idea of taking out 256 Mo of DDR ... and it works !:grin:

I will now followyour advice in order to put back those 256 Mo.
