Thanks Mr. B!

Further to Virtuos' post above, anyone who fancies honing their remixing skills should check out http://www.hookrecordings.com. Under 'media' you'll find the option to remix a Hook track using all the original samples which you can download. If you do something they're into then you ...

Thanks for those comments folks!

Virtuos - The string pad is from the sample CD Distorted Reality 2 - which I can wholeheartedly recommend, it's a great source of sounds ranging from weird and spooky to lovely and warm. I've got the Akai version and so just played it through the S2000P with some ...

Fabulous work once more Defex.

I seem to remember on the Pulsar Scope Yahoo group someone saying a while ago that some hardware filter couldn't be emulated on the Pulsar because it could do transitions between high, low and band pass. WRONG!

No worries.

BTW it's worth any Pulsar user getting themselves on the Yahoo Pulsar/Scope mail group. Partly because of the gems of wisdom that are passed on from time to time, but mainly because of the gigantic arguments that erupt on a regular basis.

Cheers for the tip Michu - just had a go on that buffer override thing. Creates sounds not dissimilar to granular synthesis but it actually seems a lot easier to come up with something useable (usually with something like Audiomulch I create a big .wav file and spend a while going through it to pick ...

Had exactly the same problem, and was set straight on Pulsar/Scope Yahoo group.

Vocoder3 needs to receive a midi note signal to activate the synthesis input - easiest way to do this is just to run a midi cable from the synth you're using to Vocoder3. Should all then work OK.

I reported the email address problem to Creamware, just in case it was Pulsar-related, and got the following reply:

"That's just a made-up mad cow noise underlined, you daft twat".

Doofdoofdoofdoofdoofdoofdoofthunk

That's the sound of my neighbour banging on the wall as I replay the exact same bar for the 8,000th time today at a truly incredible volume in order to get the mixdown right.

Thanks for asking! (so many times). DSP usage with the new PulsarMixer alone is minimal - when you start connecting channels and using EQ etc. it begins to mount up. Doesn't appear to take up any more DSP than the BigMixer as far as I can tell.

I'm currently linking my Emu XL Turbo (excellent!) to my Pulsar I (latest software update) via the SPDIF.

All is generally well however sometimes when I load up a project the SPDIF connection only emits crackles, which can usually be solved by alternating between Master and Slave a few times. Even ...
