Since version 4.5 all STS samplers crash the whole system occasionally.
At least on my system. Also the Mini drumplayer crashes the system since 4.5.
No response from Soniccore.

Good luck.

Email has been sent to Soniccore if this might be a compatibility problem.
The module has been made 12 years ago.

STS samplers freeze SFP 4.5
Bad news: The midi filter did not solve the problem totally.
It's better now, but the the freezes still happen occasionally.
Same thing with STS2000P.
I'll switch back to Mini Drumplayer and Sample Player Z.
Can anybody send me the DSP file for the old sample player Z ?
Thanks.

Re: STS 5000 freezes SFP 4.5
I have put a midi filter between the sequencer midi source and the STS 5000.
All events, except NOTE ON / OFF are filtered out now.
Since then, there have been no freezes for 8 hrs. now.
If it turns out that this is the problem, I will enable all other events step by step, to see which one the ...

STS 5000 freezes SFP 4.5: Problem is still there
So my IRQs are fine now (thanks for your help) but the problem is still there:
If the STS 5000 is in the project, the system freezes occasionally when Logic is running.
What else can I try ?

Re: STS 5000 freezes SFP 4.5
Oh, sorry. I should have known that:
Windows needs to register the card in the new PCI slot as "new" hardware.
The SFP software started before this was completed.
So the SFP couldnt see it.
After I restarted SFP all three cards are back now.
Thanks a lot so far.

Re: STS 5000 freezes SFP 4.5
I will tell you if it is ok.
Do you have an idea why one of the cards has disappeared in SFP after changing the PCI slot ?
I had this problem some years ago but I dont remember the solution for that.

Re: STS 5000 freezes SFP 4.5
OK: If Gary is asking me about IRQ sharing it IS actually a problem.
After checking the mainboard manual, I
- disabled the IEEE 1394 host controller
- moved one of the 6 DSP cards from PCI3 to PCI4.
(I need the 378 RAID controller so I cant disable it to get the IRQ 23 free)
So this is the ...

This is my IRQ configuration.
Is IRQ23 a problem ?
If so, what can I do ?

Re: STS 5000 freezes SFP 4.5
Thanks Gary.
The STS 5000 gets the midi data stream directly from Logic via a Sequencer Midi source module.
So there is no really hardware controller in between.
I will check if active sensing is sent by Logic, put a filter in between and let you know what happens.
BTW: I use a Emagic Unitor8.

Re: STS 5000 freezes SFP 4.5
The system only crashes when Logic is running. Lets say twice in 8 hrs.
So it might be difficult to force the crash without the sequencer running.
Are there any other things I could try ?
Regards

STS 5000 freezes SFP 4.5
Hi folks.
In former times I often used the Mini Drum Player x8 and the Sample Player Z with software version 3.x and below. I never had any problems or crashes with it.
Recently I tried to replace those old instruments with the STS 5000, because both players are not available any more and I lost ...

Re: Exchanging ASIO modules doesn´t work
Yes, if you speak about only one project and you don´t use a lot of source and destination modules, it is not hard.
But if there is no other chance, I have to do it that ´VERY old´way.
Thanks Gary.

Exchanging ASIO modules doesn´t work
I´m trying to replace the ASIO24 bit modules in my projects with ASIO2flt.
The manual says:
modules and their connections can be exchanged by dropping the new module over the old one, while holding the <ctrl> key .
But this doesn´t work in 4.5 on my WindowsXP machine.

Don´t worry.
The purpose of a forum is giving and taking.
You´ve given a lot over all these years
Today it´s my turn to give something back to the community.
Maybe my posting can help some lonely and desperate LogicPC user.

The problem is solved !
I have to configure 1hour MTC Offset in the VRC-S.
Logic has always 1 h offset on bar 1. (Don´t ask me why)
The Configuration in scene2 is working now.

Thank you guys.
This forum is really quick; I like that. :)
Probably I need more help.
Maybe you can tell me how to setup the routing in the SFP.
Please look at the screen copies below.
Can you tell me what I should go for ?
