V8 driver compatibility with current dsp libraries
Does anyone doing beta testing have any information on what outside applications still send Scope into BSOD? If there are NDAs involved feel free to ignore this question. In my own use case, Kontakt 7 and VCV Rack2 reliably send Scope into BSOD unless I run them as VSTs within another application (B...

Re: Parallel Processing
Very informative, and might explain why I keep reaching for MMv2 and Black Box devices. Sometimes the ears make decisions I can't explain, even to myself. Also, outside of Scope, Sound Radix Auto Align can do amazing things to bring a big mess back into alignment and phase. It is just scary and dist...

Re: Wanting to purchase Creamware CDs
Hey, that was easy, I have the red one. Also: Creamware Scope 4.5 CD Creamware June 1998 updates Pulsar 1.0, 1.1, 2.04 Scope 3.1b, 3.1c Blue sample disc I don't even have a CD ROM drive anymore. All these discs range from pristine to fairly scuffed, and I'll send them to you if you like. Takes me wa...

I may have the red one, and some other artifacts. Give me some time to dig really deep in my storage.

Re: Parallel Processing
Stepping in here to say yes, with some provisos. I'm an enthusiastic Modular Mixer user, and also very picky and too obsessive about phase issues. I seldom find that parallel processing in MM introduces any phase issues that are a problem. It also seems that somehow, most of the time, the insert eff...

Re: Reversed wave driver ?
Would be nice to have the .wav issues fixed. I understand it's probably a bigger and more complex task than I know, but I miss using the things that depend on a .wav driver.

That mixer does look handy, but I like to wait for repacks so that I know I haven't overlooked something.

Re: Pulsar 2 not working
Pretty much, as long as it's 47 microfarad and you match the polarity. They're just acting as noise filters and/or dc decouplers here, so matching things exactly isn't so crucial.
This reminds me that I fixed one of my cards with a cheap electrolytic that I meant to replace sometime.
Good luck.

Re: De-Vice' sLiM-JiM fully featured compressor
Scope does have some remarkable compressors. Apart from Simon's, the Wolf Audio ones are great (best compressor manual ever) wolfgang@wolf-audio.com, and from the SonicCore shop both DAS and dNa have superb compressors. Remember that the Orbitone Impressor is free now, although you'll still have to ...

Re: Software Modulars
That CPU is beautiful. Also a weird circularity in code modelling analog devices that model a digital processor. Along the lines of strange ways to make a computer, here is a long read that is very fascinating and objectively terrifying: https://googleprojectzero.blogspot.com/2021/12/a-deep-dive-int...

Re: How did you open 2022?
Quiet dinner with the wife. Dungeness crabs fresh from the ocean about 140km away from where I live, paired with a very dry sparkling wine. First day of the year no computers, reading, a hike along a river, a nap with the cats, and a long noisy session of messing around with physical modular synthes...
