Hello, you are probably a right persons who can answer my little question about Z-Link connection between SCOPE PCI Board and S|C A16 ULTRA. I hope you don't mind if I ask.
Is there any harm when I have plugged a small 4pin from PC Power Supply to Z-Link Plate on SCOPE PCI Board and
then normally connected with Firewire cable to A16 ULTRA which has also power supply plugged in ?

Thank you for answers

the power supply of the Z-link plate is just the same power, like your board gets from pci.
The A16 has its own powersupply, which is also normal.
Why should there be a problem ?

Z-link is just a communcation link, which is designed to cope with two powersupplies some distance apart.
Although I don't know the specs of Z-link, I suspect it to be some kind of differential wiring.

Thanks, I mean difference when a same PC SCOPE setup with Z-Link can power up LUNA 2496 box ( wich has not power supply ) and on the other side sending same voltage to A16 wich is powered already. I hope it makes sense 😃
