Re: composing wth noise
love it!
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

Another fantastic experiment! Sounds great!

Re: composing wth noise
Thank you guys. I've posted the starters Noise patch a little while ago here.
It is a very workable noise in structures and thus having a lot more precision/expression.

Re: composing wth noise
By composition processes do we mean the composition of musical language structures? Emphatically, yes. Composing terminates in pieces, and the extent to which pieces are put together from sounds, and the relations prevailing among these sounds, are a matter of how a composer works. Composition is the application of a grammar which generates the structures of a piece, whether the composer is aware of an explicit grammar or not. The sound-elements (I leave the question open as to whether these are single sounds or sound-events) to be composed into structures do not have to be in an unambiguous relationship either to one another or to the structures; assembly - "composing" - always takes place when something big consists of smaller parts. In more simplified terms, then, we can say that composition refers to elements which need not themselves be the subject of composition; the consideration of composition processes can disregard questions of sound production; sound production is not interesting as a composition process until it becomes integral, i.e. until the structure-generating grammar refers to sound data instead of to given sound elements. Re: composing wth noise
Roland, I think your work is very sophisticated and certainly is “music”. Everyone has a different idea about what music is. I know a lot of people who don’t think anything made with electronic instruments to be music. They think you have to have a guitar, drums, bass, and a singer who tells you a story. So..................... whatever. It's 2013. Do whatever you want. There are PLENTY of people who appreciate electronic music.

I heard this rrrrrrroooooahhhhhhriiiiingkbbbbbbbbbbbuschhhhhhhhhuuuuu.......
Sorry that I make music with these traditionel parts like a drummer, a man on the bass, one at the mics etc. And a melody with a story. I sometimes also sit at my knobs an turn around saturn and around the moon with vco, 24" filters and envelopes, but I come back from space, while others remain, or keep living there.......haha just the way you like it.
keep the music playing, we are all diffrent, dont worry! I accept all music.
Peace!

Re: composing wth noise
There is western scale music (major/minor) at one extreme, noise music at another end of the spectrum. Don't forget as well as there is atonal, 12 tone and a lot of other tunings and temprament which wouldn't make the top ten, but they are still 'music' by definition. These scales normally get discussed along with mentions of the Yamaha TX81Z or Kontakt's microtuning.
Its all music because its organised or composed by human ear in some manner to convey a message, or emotional, or intellectual response.
I plan to write some 12 tone dubstep - that is - a bassline that uses all 12 notes in an actave before repeating any of them. Thats as valid a starting point for a musical composition as a broken heart. I think (?) - well, why not ? Maybe I can call it 'Invalid Heart'.

As you know, Dodecaphony/serialism doesn't have a tonic for people to lean on.
On the other hand, ABSTRACT Dubstep can be a hit
ps: Next Wednesday I come up with some serialism in the radio show.

I've put this little noise example to demonstrate a DIY Noise patch I've posted here.
Where the majority just takes the Noise oscillator and a filter and by doing this just sounding the same as everybody,
I gave you a tool to define your own noise and thus sounding different.
Except sounding different, it can be used too in combination with the Sample & Hold module.
Talking about making interesting patterns(even for the man on the bass).
So this was the next cue, for free

The bassline by itself may not have a tonic, but with pads or other harmonic details added over the top that could be another story.Roland Kuit wrote: That can be interesting but I fear for the poppy minds.

DUBSTRACT + TECHNOSERIALISM = DUBNOSERIALISM
And dont forget BUDSTEP !!! (very important for lager consuming Germans)
Re: composing wth noise
Sometimes it's good to exit from the music paradigm and watch it from a different perspective.
The energy that comes from sounds and vibrations, is more than music itself.
