there's an update available now:
  • separate midi channel settings for each slot
  • "unlock from preset list" feature, like it is heavily used in LoopMangler, to change preset list settings unindependant from midi channel settings and just save them in the project or use preset settings
  • preset lists beside midi channel settings are interchangable between version one and two
Get it <a href="http://www.worldless.com/sfp/hd.html">here</a>

<font size=1>this is an old pic below:</font>
<img src="http://www.worldless.com/sfp/pics/8cha-sp.jpg">

features v1:

- Switching voices to zero unloads the choosen player from dsp.
- Removing samples is done via the delete key (not backspace) on your computer keyboard.
- MidiChannel is not saved in presets.

-------

have fun !

best
Wolfgang

Is the render is as good as the STS sampler series ?

I am just talking about quality and not functionalities

There is no rendering happening. The sound is exactl the same when playing the sample via Winamp or any other player.

Hi!
Looks fine. Is it build with something similar to the waveplayer-modules in Modular Synth? It looks like, because it seems that only mono-wav-files are possible, no STS Programs or stereosamples, am I right with this? There were attemps of building sampleplayers with these modules before, but the problem were, they were very heavy on dsp.
How is dsp-usage in comparison to an STS2000?

Thanks

Martin

yes, only mono files so far (and 16 bit max afaik), but you can also use the *.s akai-files To use stereo, you have to use split stereo files panned hard left/right.
As modular and my device use the same platform, it is also the same atoms, which are used for the sample players.
dsp usage: I don't know, if the sts2000 uses some kind of dsp unloading feature, beside that the dsp usage should be a little bit less (when every sample player is switched on of course ! ) as there are less possibilities/modules in my decvice, I believe.

Is it possible to route each sample to a different midi channel?

No, I thought, the key settings are enough. If you want, I can add this possibility.
In this case, it seems to be the best to save the midi channel with the preset instead of only with the project, isn't it ?

you're welcome

btw, I just realised, that the device might not remember its screen position after loading the project, If that's too much hassle for someone, I can fix that.
Just tell me ...

have fun !

I haven't even thought of it.
Anyway it doesn't bother me at all.

It's very useful device, indeed. When you need a very fast sample playing it's for you, really

A question:
How difficult is to make a device that can move the start point and/or reverse the samples?

sorry no, the current dp provides only a basic sample player function without editing capabilities. I already thought about something like this, too, while developing LoopMangler.
If find a possibility to realize this, I'll add it in an update for LoopMangler.

best
Wolfgang
