I'm too lazy also, but I remember it as the only recording device to capture and replay a mix exactly as it was perceived when monitoring. It collects it's data from the Scope routing and plays it back the same way.
(in cases the whole mix was done in Scope)
Whenever there was a Windoze driver involved, the mixdown file was a tiny bit off from the monitoring expression.
I gave up reasoning about this long ago (it was a subtle thing), even more when I got used to do most dynamic processing with SAW Studio's Levelizer and delegated reverb to Valhalla DSP to avoid the PCI overload message.
