I was hoping the new Windows Creators Update would have something useful for my DAW, well it's not Game Mode, according to this post:

Interesting news, Microsoft promises third party AR headsets for $299!
Game Mode in Your DAW
Re: Game Mode in Your DAW
I'm all over this stuff having a DM12 and a Leap Motion controller.
Games on a PC in the living room brings my family out of bedroom composition.
Jr. and I have our main DAW and a 55" Sony to do games, video, recording.
Instead of expensive LCD/LED PC Monitors topping out at 40 inch, we got a Sony that does both really well.
Waiting for cheap VR Goggles..
We had a laugh watching these guys last night.
Jr. loves underground rap and wants to add political humor.
These guys nail it though..

AR might be a good performance feature for music or light shows.

Could be.
GeCo MIDI can control anything you assign to the Leap Motion.
It's like a giant joystick but additional controls from a surface is still needed.
