Expression Pedal Split
Expression Pedal Split
Is it possible to split an expression pedal signal like with a Y adapter into 2 signals?
Re: Expression Pedal Split
I guess with a Midi thru box, yes you can split. I did this with 4 Midi connections and a soldering the Kabels together in Y! Works. But today a splitter is cheap.

Re: Expression Pedal Split
It's not a great idea to do, since expression pedals usually have power & ground supplied by the device to the pedal. Using a Y cable puts the two devices' power supplies against each other! So could cause damage, but will definitely cause noise to ground or supplies.
Re: Expression Pedal Split
ah shucks
didn't know that about the pwr supplies. Are they battery powered?
I have the Moog EP-3 and I didn't see where a battery was, it just worked out of the box on my pedal device.
I'm confused
@marco it's the 1/4 jack exp pedal not the midi type.

Re: Expression Pedal Split
You might be able to do in software with SpaceF CCx2
Re: Expression Pedal Split
Okay the expression pedal is analog? Should frst be converted into a Midi signal to make it twice with Midi thru. I know my Midi thru box isn't perfect. But in scope your possibilities are endless

Re: Expression Pedal Split
ok hmmm that's interesting I will have to look further into how to use this thing.
Right now I have it plugged into a Lester-G stomp box but I found another expression input on another device. Neither one has midi so it will have to be analog I guess. I use the Behringer foot pedal for the midi mod stuff.

@Jk; I just re-read your post and i get it now. The stomp box sends a pwr signal to the pedal! That makes sense.
Re: Expression Pedal Split
With this device you can convert it to any CC number!

Re: Expression Pedal Split
Exactly. But, if these are two stomp boxes you are talking about, and they both get their power from the same distribution unit, then it might not be a problem! I was thinking it would be two keyboards, or something like that.yayajohn wrote:@Jk; I just re-read your post and i get it now. The stomp box sends a pwr signal to the pedal! That makes sense.
Re: Expression Pedal Split
no i've got them all on separate pwr. Prob best just to get another pedal then.
Thanks
@marco. SpaceF CCx series are excellent devices. They are included with BBII and a buttload of other very cool devices and modules.
