More inputs
Hello guys,
quick question I'd like to have 1 more input for my config. I have a luna + a pulsar plugged in the computer and need 1 more input (ideally Jack or RCA without preamp). What would you recommend? I thought about different solution:
- mixing table
- something like CW A16
- something like Behringer ADA8200 Ultragain
do you see other options using ADAT ?
Of course I look for the cheapest option.
Thanks!

Re: More inputs
Ok something like this :
http://www.cdiscount.com/high-tech/acce ... 23181.html
http://www.conrad.fr/ce/fr/product/3251 ... GwodqpsMcg
should be enough to start (probably the cheapest solution!)
If someone read this and could explain how ADAT is used for pulsar card?
Thx!

Re: More inputs
look for a used Fostex VC-8.
I've got three of them, it's good quality + super reliability.
This one is a bit overpriced; if you get one for 40€ or so, take it, you won't regret it.

Re: More inputs
ADA8000 and 8200 are both great values.
Re: More inputs
A used behringer Ada8000 is cheap 99€
out and about for music production. Are you still configguring your Studio music first!

Re: More inputs
another question, if I go for an ADA 8000 would it be possible to use the 8 analog outputs for example to get the main output signal, I think for example about pluging headphones or speakers to hear the main output signal?
Regarding the routing how does it work ? Do I need to route the main mixer output to each ADAT dest?
Thanks again!

Re: More inputs
to be clearer would it be possible to use 2 outputs from the ada8000 to plug a headphone amp with multi headphones outputs for a recording session.

No problem, but you need an headphone amplification

Re: More inputs
Well.. why not the Luna box expansion?

Where would you get one today?geiger wrote:Well.. why not the Luna box expansion?
Re: More inputs
@Interference - what do you need the extra input for ? A mono or stereo source ? If you have vocals and guitar and both can be mono use for example the Pulsar line input with a Y splitter - vocal mic on left and guitar line in on right !
Hard to beat that for cheapness

Re: More inputs
Thanks guys. In the end I think I'll go for an ADA8200... Hope this will be a good investment because it will be a bit more money than expected at first.
@ Dante, this will be to connect all my stuff once and never touch this, just play!
I have 1 analog synth, 1 analog preamp to plug the mics, the guitar, the bass, the analog tape delay plugged as an insert (one main output plugged into one input to be able to add this delay to any track if needed) so most of the sources are mono but guitar or other synth could be stereo.
This also could be helpful to record several sources at 1 time and last if I go for the ada 8200 I'd like to use the outputs to make a multiheadphones system. I think I should be able to do this with that. As you said Luna box should have done this too but the behringer is very easy to find not the luna box

Yes and because of the idealism,- and even a 4 oct. keyboard (diving or waterfall) isn´t enough ...dawman wrote:The B4000 rig in the above link is brilliant...
It needs at least 61 keys, - except one is satisfied w/ a spinet design Hammond keyboard layout.
I see lots of innovating stuff from designers, but in most cases, they all make elementary mistakes,- professional manufacturers included.
I dunno why,- but it might have to do w/ saving money,- and if it is just only a few cents per component.
