XITE-1 Summertime Festival Project

Post by dawman »

We want to maximise our profits this year.
So no more Midas M32/RCF Quad/DBA Dual Subs & Lights rentals.

3 x Vocals, each one has an automated TC Fireworx I programmed.
1 x Guitarist ( with the best double leads Ive ever heard) sings his ass off too.
1 x Bassist lead vocals
1 x drummer lead vocals
1 x keyboard rig.

The Dynamic Mixer has EQ per channel and EQ + mGate per drum channel
Using direct outs to RoyT small mixer > SideChained COMP > Monitor Mix
Also have three Monitor mixes for vocals.
Still cant get personalized mixes, but they can hear their own vocals.
If that is not satisfactory they can buy a 10,000 rig and get all finicky and shit.

Physis automates every parameter, every screenset pertains to whats automated.

Using my QSC KW Series 153 Array.
I have seperate outs for my Stage rig, and outs to FOH.
Speaker array has a hardware Tube Exciter that really adds some low end focus.

Just a pair of ADA 8200s with BLA Modifications.
And the kick ass Creamware A16 running Z-Link and 8200s using ADAT.
44.1k
Plenty of juice leftover.

Nobody can out perform the Scope DSP for real time.
It's as good as the Midas M32
Speakers are punchy cause I run them hot with the Tubes.

I put DNA FX Racks inside BCM Shells because they take up less project window space and allow screen sets to show the FX only when called up.
Also use SAL for AUX 2, and RoyT BBD Pitch as my Reverb.

XITE-1 actually sounded better than the Midas M32.
I used FMR RNPs on mic'd amps and vocals into the A16.
Drums used ADA 8200s with Burr/Brown converters.

RCF tops and DB DVA Bottoms are pricey but perfect for the XITE-1.

Ankyu.
I tried this with VDAT and 3 x cards years back.
A nightmare.
In between every song people turned up or down, whined about more of this and that, even had their wives giving me advice....
Fuck that shit.

Just giving each vocalist their own FMR and TC Fireworx with no custom monitor mix is all they get, and it works.

If they complain I tell them to get their own show.

Pretty nice mobile stage though.

They get 500 each gig, sound array owner gets 500 the band gets 4K.
Scantily dressed hillbilly chicks get to drink from our Keg free.

Having an FOH just isn't necessary.
Oh and the lights attached to the foldable trailer are awesome.
Everything is switchable colored LED.
No more 1000 watt lamps burning your skin as you dodge Kamikaze squadrons of giant insects.

I swear, you can see them from 50 feet away making their runs on you.
You gotta duck.
It does help to keep band members appear excited and energetic.

You stand still and you get smashed by these flying cockroach monsters.

Yeah man that stage is awesome. And indeed...a good band who can play balanced with good singers dont really need a foh guy...just someone switching mutegroups...which can also be done by a bandmember. Take control yourself and you can actually make a nice living...would be nice having a nice photo of you guys rocking tha crowd....maybe one of the hillbillychicks can take one for ya...if she knows where to press haha

We chopped a few of these last summer for firewood.
Even these country western gals got trucks and straps for dragging timber around.
Nothing gets wasted excepted the people.
