Xite vs 15 dsp card really power test please send your resul

Post by Marco »

After getting deeper and deeper into the Phantastic world of possibilities with scope I have the idea to get an xite. I have 3x15 dsp cards with lots of power. I think about a xite. What do you think, in reality, how much more power I can get out of an xite?
 out and about for music production. Are you still configguring your Studio  music first!

at least double your 3 cards.
you will lose some i/o, and the Zarg synths work better on the PCI cards, but otherwise, the XITE is superior sounding and much more powerful.

Keep the 2 system to have plenty I/O and connect them via ADAT or something...! That's the way I do, with 2 pc... Awesome !

I have 1 PCI card (15DSP gen2) in one computer and XITE connected to a 2nd machine.
Like many do, those can be inter-connected via ADAT and MIDI to make ´em, more or less, one system.
It´s all Win XP and 32Bit here which I found to be the best for SCOPE 5.1, which I have installed on both the machines.
As Gary said, ZARG synths run (a bit) better on the "old" PCI cards ...
Nontheless, I have the smaller ZARG devices usable on both, PCI and XITE.
The big ZARG devices show issues on every of my SCOPE 5.1 systems,- at least when it comes to polyphony and patch changes.
When I used SCOPE 4 w/ the PCI card, I didn´t own any big ZARG like QuantumWave, Solaris v4 or 5 and Rotor EX,- so no experience w/ a lower SCOPE version and Zarg big synths.
You have some nice hardware modules in your studio ...
Good luck w/ the setup !
