XITE-1 w/ RADIAL TUBES

Post by dawman »

Really like having a Z-Link capable interface again.

Also really like adding Tubes to digital audio.
Not only rounding out the signals peaks, but using really voltage for distortion.

Digital Distortion is just not suitable for everything.

Now I have my Organ Module, Solaris, Zebra2 HZ and a Stereo FX Pedal (AUX 2 Across all channels in mixer)

Nice...nothing beats a tube. Agree that that is a totally different distortion...very gradually. A triode config generates beautifull even harmonics...pentode more odd harmonics which sound 'harder'.

My second monitor set is driven by a Prelude tube amp 2x 30 watts on pmc monitors. The other pmc set by a sony es series amp 2x250w. The prelude still is more dynamic... But that is a whole different use of tubes hehe. What does it use..ecc83 triodes? What tubes do u use in them....you have philips nos?

RCA 5751 Command Triple Mica
Low gain Tubes mean more trim on mixer channels, but the quality of drive is fierce.

Your Pitch Shifter on AUX 1 is fantastic.
I use a couple stock chorus FX on Inserts/channels.
But DNA Pitch Shift is on 8 of the 13 Stereo channels.

Awesome transparency when static.
Nice flanginess when a sine wave LFO modulates the mix knob too.

Jaco would have loved it..

Such a cool configuration, seamless integration of external hardware is only with scope possible.
Because it is real time.
 out and about for music production. Are you still configguring your Studio  music first!

Exactamente.
I keep thinking about UAD or RME as many guys with MacBook Pros use them live.
Just doesnt have the same quality sound, but the UAD stuff works great on big digital consoles.
But for a performer wanting hardware and selected software Scope is the juice..

you shall have no other gods before me....
I believe in scope, if you change then you can get maybe the same thing for much more money! Yes uad will love you for that. But uad is like a sect, they make you believe that you have a neve or a Marshall amp, but the truth is that is only on your screen but not in your hardware rack. You can be an addicted slave, don't believe what you see, just listen to it and judge with your brain not only the emotion.
For me the uad idea is just a fanta Morgana, a mirror on your computer screen.
