I was looking through my SongKick last night and saw BB was supposed to be playing Italy in July, which seemed odd as he was already ill. Really wish I'd gone and seen him live.

"Why I Sing the Blues" was always my favourite track.

always loved his music, as I love(d) the blues.

The thrill is Gone:

I'm free free now, I'm free from your spell
I'm free free now, I'm free from your spell
And now that it's all over, baby
All I can do is wish you well

The Thrill is never gone..

BB was one of us.
A Las Vegas local too, along with Ruth Brown, and many old Motown folks.
Actually was an Emulator II geek back in the 80s, use to swap FDDs with local cats sampling.

He had a great life.

When someone says he's going to a better place you gotta be kiddin' me...?
He had a great spread at Spanish Trails...
Where this better place at any ways..?

Eric Clapton is right. There are not many of these guys left still playing this music.

Go to St.Louis. There's an entire section of the city where Blues only Clubs and players from around the world perform.
Half the bands in St. Louis decided to become "Blues" Bands because the pay was double of
most Clubs.
Personally I think "Blues Band" means you don't rehearse very much, use as little gear as possible,
start and end every song the same, etc.etc.
